Rightsizing Schools in PPS: Make Your Voices Heard! 📢
Please strongly consider making your voices heard at the upcoming community engagement sessions hosted by PPS leaders.
The district is in the process of figuring out how to “rightsize” schools, which means some schools in PPS will need to close as a result of the ongoing budget cuts.
Although the PPS director of multilingual services reassured me that he has not heard of any discussions that may impact DLI schools, I think it is always best to make our voices heard when the opportunity arises.
Click here to review some talking points to consider.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

PTA Equity Committee: Please Join Us On April 28th! 💖
The PTA Equity Committee and I are excited to invite Richmond families to a timely and meaningful conversation with connection at the heart of the evening. Our goal is to discuss how we can continue to cultivate inclusive and effective practices for all students in a time when educators are being asked to do so much more with so much less.
If you are interested in learning more about what the PTA Equity Committee does, please join us for this event! We are seeking new members to help us create an inclusive learning environment for all students.
RSVP not required, but it is helpful for planning purposes in regards to food orders, seating, etc.

Read4Richmond Reptile Man Assembly! 🐍
THANKS A MILLION to all of our community members who donated to our Read4Richmond fundraiser! We reached our fundraising goal and our students are VERY excited to see the Reptile Man at our assembly this Friday! Photos will be shared in the next Bulldog Bulletin.
CONGRATULATIONS to Mogi Sensei's class and Maehara Sensei's class for reading the most minutes amongst all of our K-2 classes and 3rd-5th grade classes! They will be seated in the front row during our K-2 and 3rd-5th grade assemblies.
SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to Richmond parents Ellen Schiller and Sarah Weber for organizing this year's Read4Richmond fundraiser event! Thank you so much for finding ways to make reading fun while raising funds for our school.
Earthquake Drill & Fire Evacuation Drill 🚨
We will have an earthquake drill at 1:50pm on Wednesday, April 15th. Right after our earthquake drill ends, I will get on the intercom to prepare our students for a fire evacuation drill. Our goal for fire drills continues to be to evacuate the building in less than 4 minutes using voice level 0 (silent).
We are really awesome at evacuating the building in an orderly manner in 3-3.5 minutes, but we are still working on keeping our voices off in case any new announcements need to be made during the evacuation.

Message from Our Health Team: picking up medication
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we get closer to the end of the school year, we want to make sure that your students have their medications with them over the summer. Please put a reminder on your calendar to pick up your student’s medication from the health room before the end of the school year. These must be picked up by the last day of school, or they will be disposed of over the summer - we cannot keep them at the school over summer break. If you cannot come pick up medications on the last day of school, please reach out to the health room and we can help come up with a plan to get the medications back home with the student.
The Lost and Found is FULL!
Please visit the cafeteria to collect your child’s items. There are raincoats, jackets, sweaters, hats, so many water bottles, even backpacks! We will start to wash and donate items on April 15. Please come before then to collect items or email richmondptapresident@gmail.com with a description and we will search for you!
