AUGUST 2026 NEWSLETTER
Dear Peakview Families,
Welcome to a new school year! Whether you're returning to Peakview or joining our community for the first time, I am so excited you're here.
Before anything else, I want to encourage you to take a few minutes to read through this newsletter. Throughout the year, it will be one of our primary ways of sharing important information, upcoming events, celebrations, and opportunities to get involved. I know life gets busy, but taking a few minutes to read each edition will help you stay connected and ensure you don't miss important updates.
As I begin my first year as principal of PVA, I wanted to share a little about what you can expect from me.
I believe every student can and will learn when the right conditions are in place. I believe strong relationships are the foundation of great schools, and I believe the best outcomes happen when schools and families work together as partners.
You'll probably learn pretty quickly that I'm a fairly straightforward person. I'll celebrate often, communicate honestly, and do my best to make decisions by asking one simple question: "Is this what's best for kids?"
Over the past several weeks, I've had the opportunity to meet many of our staff members, students, and families, and I've been incredibly impressed by the care, dedication, and sense of community that already exists at Peakview. There is so much to be proud of here. My goal isn't to change what makes Peakview special. It's to build upon it.
Our guiding principles of #AllMeansAll, #WatchMe, and #DreamBig aren't just words we say. They reflect the kind of school we strive to be every day. We want every student to know they belong, to believe in themselves, and to leave Peakview with the confidence to take on whatever comes next.
I'm honored to serve this incredible school community and look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the year. You'll often find me greeting students in the morning, visiting classrooms, attending school events, and celebrating the amazing things happening across our campus. If you see me, please stop and introduce yourself. I truly believe the best schools are built on strong relationships, and I look forward to partnering with you this year.
Here's to a fantastic school year. We are so glad you're part of the Peakview family!

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Reminders
Important Reminders: Drop-Off and Pick-Up for the 2026–2027 School Year
As we prepare for another great school year, we would like to remind families that our drop-off and pick-up procedures remain the same as last year. These procedures were designed to improve safety and traffic flow around our school, and your continued partnership helps keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for everyone.
As a reminder:
🚗 Families should use the front loop on the west side of the building as the designated car line for student drop-off and pick-up.
🚶🏽 Early Childhood and Kindergarten families may use the designated street parking spaces to park and walk their learner to and from the building.
🚶🏼♀️ Families who prefer to park and walk their learner to the building may use the available street parking.
🚌 Buses, community program vehicles, and staff should use the parking lot on the north side of the school.
Please help us keep everyone safe by using the designated drop-off and pick-up locations and avoiding stopping in the middle of Monroe Avenue to load or unload learners.
If you need a refresher on our procedures, please review the flyer below:
📎 Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures Flyer
📎 Volante de procedimientos de entrega y recogida
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in helping us provide a safe, smooth, and efficient arrival and dismissal experience for all of our learners and families.
E-Bikes, Motorized Scooters, and Other Student Transport
To ensure the safety and security of everyone in and outside of the building, please adhere to the following storage guidelines:
Motorized Devices: All e-bikes, electric scooters, and other motorized devices must be stored at the outdoor bike racks. Students are responsible for properly locking these items in the designated areas in front of the building.
Non-Motorized Transport: Longboards, skateboards, and manual scooters must be stored in the designated racks located in the hallway next to the Collaboratory.
Clearance: All closets, walkways, and staircases must remain completely clear of any personal items.
Usage on Campus: For the safety of our community, please do not ride electric or motorized devices on school grass, sidewalks, or the track. Students must dismount and walk their devices once they reach school property until they are safely stored.
Chromebooks & Chargers
💻 Return Chromebooks & Chargers to School
As we kick off the new school year, we’re asking all 6th–8th grade families to please make sure your learner brings their Chromebook to school on their first day back. These devices will be used right away in classrooms, so having them ready helps everyone start strong. Thank you for your support in helping us hit the ground running!

TSD Personal Technology Device Policy - Still Away For The Day at PVA
TSD Student Use of Cell Phones and Other Personal Technology Devices
PVA Away For The Day Motto
Thompson School District’s cell phone and personal technology device policy is designed to foster a supportive educational environment with fewer distractions for students. In general, once students enter a school building, their personal technology devices—including cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, cameras, and similar devices—must be put away and inaccessible unless a specific exception applies. Students at every grade level may only use personal devices when a teacher specifically authorizes them for instructional purposes or when required by an IEP, Section 504 Plan, medical need or emergency.
Elementary and Middle Schools
Students are generally not allowed to use personal devices at any point during the school day while on campus, including before school, passing periods, lunch, and after school.
High Schools
Students may use their devices before and after school and during lunch, subject to school-specific rules. However, they may not use them in hallways during passing periods.
More Engagement. Fewer Distractions.
Through this policy, district students will engage in an environment that is best suited to maximize learning and support. Benefits include:
Improved student learning and academic performance
A safer, more focused learning environment
Improved student well-being and social interaction
More information is located on the district’s Cell Phone and Personal Device Policy webpage. If you have any questions, please contact your school’s front desk.
Thank you for your support and partnership.

School Meals
For the 2026-2027 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to free meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program. This program ensures enrolled students are provided free breakfast and lunch, regardless of family income.
Although all students will receive access to free meals, it’s still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, etc. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support. ***All household income information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent.***
The attachments contain more information on the application, and instructions for applying. While the following pages may reference eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals, access to breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students regardless of household income.
We provide meals that meet or exceed the US Department of Agriculture nutrition standards and Dietary Guidelines for Americans. This year we are also increasing our items from local farmers and producers. You can be confident your children are getting quality meals while saving your family time and money.
Use the link below to apply online, or you may pick up a paper application at any TSD school or the Support Services Center and return or mail it to 2890 North Monroe Avenue Loveland, CO 80538.

Student Fees
Do you qualify for Free & Reduced Meal Benefits?
ALL families are still asked to fill out an application. Why? The Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on income information to support meals for all students. Other state and federal grants are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates.
Additionally, families that qualify may receive discounted or waived fees for programs inside and outside of the school district.
Instructional Fees
The instructional materials fee is charged to each student annually. This money is utilized for buying textbooks and extracurricular materials for our school, replacing old materials, or replenishing items students use.
Middle Level Exploration Class Fees
These fees are charged to students participating in specific classes and activities. This fee is based on the cost of materials and supplies that have been depleted and need to be replenished.
Middle Level Athletic Fees
The Athletic fee helps to support referees, transportation, equipment and uniforms.
Tech4All Damage/Loss Fine
If a student's device gets lost or damaged and turned in for repair, any costs incurred will be charged to the student’s account.

Peakview Academy Student & Family Handbook
Within our short time so far as a school, we have worked hard to develop systems, structures, procedures, and policies that will support our school in being the best that it can be to achieve its vision and mission. As we have developed the systems, structures, procedures, and policies, we have created a PVA Student & Family Handbook. Please review the handbook as necessary.
