DMS Delivers June 25, 2023

Thank you!

I want to take a moment to thank parents, guardians, families, students and staff for a very successful year at Dighton Middle School! Your unwavering support of your children and our amazing educators and staff is appreciated. I know the end of the school year is a very busy time, so I wanted to send one more newsletter prior to our welcome back newsletter in the fall so important information is at the forefront. Thanks again for a great year, and I'm already excited to see you in the fall! Mrs. McGourty

DMS Principal

Our principal screening committee worked diligently to review resumes and interview principal candidates. The committee sent our chosen preliminary candidate names to Superintendent Runey. Once all final interviews and processes are complete, Mr. Runey will announce our new DMS principal!

Bus Lists

Bloom is working on putting together the bus lists for all schools. These will be released in August. We will share these via email with families via email and our school website as soon as they are available.

Homerooms and Schedules

New to DMS for the 2023-2024 school year: After a lot of reflection, thought, and consideration, the DMS administration and teachers decided to make an important change. Students will no longer be traveling as a homeroom cohort all day. This will provide opportunities for students to learn with different peers throughout the school day to not only diversify the learning environment and promote new friendships but also to foster positive student behaviors.

We understand that families are eager to learn about new teachers for the upcoming school year, and the district shares in your excitement. During the summer months, school staff and administration continue the important work of building schedules, hiring staff, and assigning new students to classrooms. As a result, your child’s homeroom teacher and academic schedule for the 2023-2024 school year will be released via ASPEN in mid-late August, with the exact date to be determined. (Students will get paper copies on the first day of school).
