Dear Allenwood Families,

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your ongoing support of our staff and students. Your participation in school events and the PTG fundraisers has been truly inspiring. I sincerely thank our families for their incredible support in the Kids Heart Challenge. Together, we raised over $15,000 for the American Heart Association! A special thank you to Mr. Maritt and Mrs. Mogavero for their dedication and effort in making this challenge a tremendous success. Through our partnership, we are creating lasting memories for our little Dragons!

As per Dr. Handerhan's email that was sent to our families, the Board of Education has made adjustments to this year's school calendar. So far, the District has not used either of the two designated emergency or "snow" days. As a result, schools will now be closed on Monday, April 21, 2025, and Friday, May 23, 2025. However, if an emergency or snow day becomes necessary, schools will remain open on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Upcoming Events:

• March 31 - April 4: Neurodiversity Week – Please see the flyer in this newsletter for more details.

• April 1: 2nd Grade Spring Share with Parents at 10:00 AM in the gym.

• April 3 and April 4: PTG Theater Club presents Aristocats! The day show is on April 3 at 2:00 PM for students, and there will be two evening performances on April 4 at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

• April 7 - April 11: PTG's Book Fair will be held in the library.

• April 9: Assembly – The Funny Magic Show.

• April 10: Allenwood Art Show (hallways) and Science Fair (gym) at 6:00 PM.

• April 11: Spirit Day – Wear your favorite Spring colors!

• April 11: 1st Grade Field Trip to OCC Novins Planetarium.

• April 14 - April 21: Spring Break – School is closed.

Our NJSLA testing window is as follows:

• April 28 - May 2: 4th and 5th grade ELA and Math Assessments
• May 5 - May 9: 3rd grade ELA and Math Assessments
• May 12 - May 13: 5th Grade Science Assessments
