Winter Break Winter Break

I trust all of our students had a wonderful winter break. That being said, it was great to welcome them back to school as we begin 2025. We are quickly getting back to our daily routines and want to have all of our students finish out the second marking period on a strong note.

Best wishes to all for 2025!

High School Program of Studies and Course Selection for 2025-2026: High School Program of Studies and Course Selection for 2025-2026:

The school counseling time is excited to begin the 2025-2026 course selection process in February for all current 8th graders. Course selection will occur electronically. Please review these instructions and contact your student’s counselor if you have any questions. The 2025-2026 High School Program of Studies, Career Cluster Alignment to Courses at NBC High School Guide, Department Sequence Charts, High School Program of Studies Video Series and the Four-Year Planning Tool are available on the High School Counseling Department Web Page to assist students and parents as they make course selections.

The academic directors will be conducting group presentations with all current 8th graders before February 28, 2025. During this time, they will briefly discuss career pathways, the course selection process, start the four-year planning process, and assist the students in beginning a preliminary schedule. Attendance and Religious Holidays Attendance and Religious Holidays

As we start the New Year, I want to remind everyone about the importance of regular attendance at school. There are occasions when our students miss school for a religious observance. In the event your child misses (or missed) school for a religious holiday, please be sure to email our attendance secretary, Mrs. Kemerley (mkemerley@nburlington.com) so we can properly credit your child for that absence, per state law.

Winter Sport Spectators Winter Sport Spectators

Winter sports season is underway. While we appreciate our students wanting to come out and support their classmates, we are not equipped to provide supervision to student spectators. As a result, students who wish to watch a basketball game or wrestling match must first go home and then return with a responsible adult who will stay with them for the duration of the contest. There will be a sign in process for students and their adult chaperones when they arrive at the contest.
