Principal's Message
As we come to the end of the Church Liturgical year with the celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King let us pray:
God our Loving Good Shepherd,
enfold us in your love and compassion at the end of this year.
Help us each day to live the Gospel and to see Christ in all we meet,
especially those who need our help.
Bring us the joy of knowing that in small ways
we can embody your justice and hope in the world.
We make this prayer through Jesus, your Son who is present with us always. Amen
Thank you to everyone in our community who has helped each other through trying times as the bushfire took hold in our region.
- To parents who read the early morning text messages yesterday and kept their children home – thank you.
- To the parents who, despite the terrible situation they were experiencing, have responded to questions for information about how they are doing in the face of the fire – thank you.
- To the staff who while also staying home yesterday were keeping in touch with each other and offering to help those who may need it – thank you.
Yesterday was a difficult day made less difficult by the enormous spirit of community helping each other – truly embodying our PADUA values and St Anthony’s Way.
I know many have asked how they can help those in need. At this point in time, those families are still coming to terms with their situation. When we know of the help they may need, we will let our wonderful community know.

Faith In Action
Absolutely! Here are some quick facts about Pope Clement I:
- He is considered one of the earliest Apostolic Fathers and an important figure in early Christian history.
- Clement I is traditionally believed to have served as the fourth Pope of the Catholic Church, likely from 88 AD to 99 AD.
- He wrote an influential letter to the Corinthian church, known as "First Clement," addressing issues within the community and emphasizing unity and proper governance.
- According to tradition, Clement I faced martyrdom during the reign of Emperor Trajan, being either drowned or martyred in some other way, possibly around 100 AD.
- He is revered as a saint in both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions, and his feast day is celebrated on November 23rd in the Roman Catholic Church.

Year 4 News
This term in Year 4 we have had a busy one. Each week we have been having to learn a new dance with Footsteps Dancing. It was great to see so many moves being busted across the dance floor. We hope the parents who came last week to our dance session enjoyed watching us!
This term in HASS we completed our study on how the Food Web in a rainforest is affected by the destruction of the rainforest biome, before going on to learn about the different seasons and how the indigenous people used the seasons to live sustainably. This has tied in nicely with the Advent unit that we are presently focusing on in Religion. Just as the weather has seasons, so does the church. The liturgical year consists of a cycle of liturgical seasons, and soon we will be entering the season of Advent. This marks the beginning of the church year and a time when people prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
In Literacy, we have been focusing on narrative writing. We have been fine-tuning our sizzling starts to hook the reader in. Have a read below - have any hooked you in?
The burning match - by Ava Roost
As I walked into the kitchen, I saw my three-year-old cousin holding onto a match. That could burn his fingers any second, I thought. Has the fire got closer to his fingers? No! I scream.
Leap of Faith - by Chase D
As I held on for dear life, sweat dripping down my back I heard a shout. “Yehahh! Ready for me to bombard your spine!” But I couldn’t dare to answer back. “Oomph, oomph, oomph” CRACK! One thousand metres off the ground and this happens.
Trustfall - by Lacey C
Crack! At that moment I knew I never should of trusted him. The wind on my face felt as if I was in a hurricane. The muffled scream of my father still echoing in my head. As I plummeted towards the Earth’s core my body became weak and my head filled with worry.
The Birthday Catastrophy - by Liam Dwyer
Everyone in the whole tent was screaming. It was on the loose!. “This is like a horror game but in real life!” shouted Josie. Nick saw an exit that no one was going to. Grabbing Josie’s hand, they ran through it, only for Nick to find himself face-planted into the wall. What’s this? A trapdoor, Josie wondered. “Don’t touch it!!!” Nick warned, but it was too late!
Knock, knock! - by Marcus Tang
“Josh! Run! Go!” Josh sprinted to the group of friends not looking behind him. The moment he touched his friends, he felt a sharp pain in his back. He stood there for a moment then collapsed. Suddenly a knock on the door…twice! It opened and a man, dressed in a bear costume, stood behind Josh’s limp body, yielding a bloodied axe. The room plunged into pure darkness! Silence filled the room, until the sound of a thud…another body!
In Maths, we have been revisiting our multiplication and division facts as well as looking at collecting data using specific questions and then analysing what the information is telling us. We have had some very interesting discussions about the data and then displayed these in different ways.
As the term starts to wind down, we have been very busy trying to learn as much as we can with final assessments being completed. We are all looking forward to being able to start our Christmas crafts and sharpen our pencils ready to write some convincing letters to Santa.
Canteen Closure 2024
As mentioned at the AGM on Tuesday 21st November, the school has made the decision to close the canteen from 2024 and onwards.
The school will be engaging the services of Locavora – an offsite school lunch service. In the coming weeks, details on how to sign up, load money and view the menu for school lunches will be sent to all families via Seesaw.
At this stage, Locavora will be delivering lunches from Monday to Friday.
SEQTA Engage for Students' Reports
St Anthony’s School utilises the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal for parents to access student reports for students in Kindy to Year 6 at the end of the year. If you have not already done so, please log in to SEQTA Engage to ensure you are able to access your child's report.
To do this you need to go to the following site: https://stanthonys.coneqt-p.cathednet.wa.edu.au/ and use your current username and password. This link is also found on the homepage of the school website under Quick Links.

If you have forgotten both of these, then please contact the school and we can remind you of your username.
Reports will be available from Wednesday 6th December via the portal.
Years 4 to 6 Triathlon
Congratulations to the Year 4, 5, and 6 students who recently participated in the North Coast Primary Schools Triathlon at Whitfords Nodes. They encountered some challenging conditions during the swim leg, which only got harder as the day progressed. The students displayed admirable resilience and good sportsmanship throughout the competition, it was wonderful to see one of our Year 5 boys getting off his bike to help another competitor during the race – well done Tiza! Their ability to navigate difficulties and support each other highlights the positive values we cultivate in our school community. It's wonderful to see our student’s embodying perseverance and teamwork in the realm of sports, making us proud of their achievements and sportsmanship.
Yours in sport
Nicki Francis
