Happy March, Huckleberry Heroes!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing break. February sure did fly by! I am looking forward to all the fun we will have this month at HHS. Check out the SEL activities and resources in this month's newsletter!

Our Huckleberry Hero theme at HHS over the next few months is Generosity ! Students will learn about what generosity means and what it looks likes. Students will listen to books, engage in discussions, and participate in activities that teach us about generosity. I hope you continue to spend some time thinking about ways you can show generosity at home, school, and in your community. There will be an at-home connection activity coming home, so make sure to be on the lookout for that! I can't wait to hear about how all of our Huckleberry Heroes show generosity.

Tips for Raising Generous Children - Child Mind Institute

It is natural for children to be somewhat self-involved. Their primary focus, especially when they are young, is making sure that their needs are met by the people around them. This generally means that kids learn to ask for the things they want fairly early in their development, and they will have many opportunities to perfect their technique.

Teaching Kids How to Deal With Conflict - Child Mind Institute

No one likes dealing with conflict. But no matter how hard we try to avoid them, arguments, fights and disagreements are a fact of life - for adults and for kids. And not dealing with conflicts when they arise can negatively impact relationships and lead to further interpersonal challenges down the road.
