Roosevelt Elementary School Named a 2025 New Jersey Blue Ribbon School
Roosevelt Elementary School has achieved one of the state’s highest honors – being officially recognized as a 2025 New Jersey Blue Ribbon School for academic excellence and student growth! Superintendent of Schools Frank D’Amico and Principal Jack Lipari accepted the recognition as Roosevelt was honored as one of only 11 schools statewide to receive this distinction. This honor reflects the staff and students’ commitment, which has resulted in significant growth on the NJSLA in both Language Arts and Mathematics.
Roosevelt’s success stems from dedicated, well-rounded academic programs and technology-integrated instruction. Principal Lipari stated the recognition is a "testament to the teamwork and dedication that define Roosevelt Elementary." The district will formally honor the school at an upcoming Board of Education meeting, and a Blue Ribbon banner will be proudly displayed at the school later this year.

Lodi Educators Receive NJDOE Exemplary Recognition
Lodi Public School District is proud to announce that two dedicated leaders, Supervisor of Guidance Christine Orosz and English Teacher Melanie Panarese, have received the 2025 NJDOE Exemplary Educator Recognition, an honor received by only 120 educators statewide. Both were selected based on their proven instructional success, their leadership in developing innovative programs, and their commitment to fostering supportive learning environments for all Lodi students. Faculty Spotlight: Mr. Mark Nocito
Custodian at Thomas Jefferson Middle School
A Legacy of Pride, Dedication, and Heart
For more than 45 years, custodian Mr. Mark Nocito – known affectionately as Mr. Mark – has been a treasured member of the Lodi Public Schools community. From his early days at Lodi High School in 1980 to his decades of service at Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson Middle School, his impact has touched generations of students and staff.
“When you love your job, it’s not a job,” he shared. “The kids, the teachers, the administrators – there are so many memorable moments. The way the kids appreciate what you do, and when the principal appreciates what you do, it means everything.”
Mr. Mark began his career maintaining athletic fields before moving into the school buildings, where he quickly became known for his reliability, kindness, and pride in maintaining every hallway, classroom, and space. He spent over 30 years at Roosevelt School ensuring students had a safe, welcoming environment, and for the past five years has been a daily source of positivity at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
“Every morning I hear, ‘Good morning, Mr. Mark!’ from the kids, it makes me feel great and truly appreciated,” he said.
Over the years, he has seen the district evolve, from new safety systems and building upgrades to outdoor improvements such as pickleball and bocce ball courts – but his enthusiasm for the work never faded.
One of his favorite memories came during the TJMS Talent Show, when he performed The Who’s “Pinball Wizard.” “That was the highlight of my life,” he shared. “The applause was overwhelming! I’ve always sung while I work, but performing for the kids was something I’ll never forget.”
“In my nearly 30 years in Lodi, I’ve never met someone more compassionate or hardworking than Mr. Mark,” said TJMS Principal Michael Cardone. “His pride, reliability, and heart are unmatched. When I moved to the middle school, I made sure he came with me – because he always knows what needs to be done before I even ask. He’s made an incredible impact on our school and on my life personally.”
As he looks ahead to retirement, Mr. Mark plans to enjoy fishing in Pennsylvania, visiting family in Colorado, and trying his hand at treasure hunting.
When asked what advice he would leave behind, he didn’t hesitate: “Be nice to one another. Respect each other. Listen to your adults – you never know when you’ll need that knowledge later. And always go above and beyond what you have to do. It really helps others and makes the world a better place.”

This year, 25 students participated in interviews with 17 colleges and universities, with many receiving same-day acceptance decisions and early scholarships.
