Winter break begins on December 19. We encourage students to make the most of the remaining days and finish 2024 strong. The end of year is the perfect time for reflection: what can we do now to set us up for success in 2025? We are grateful for all of our students, families, and community partners who challenge us to continuously improve and reflect upon our practice. We appreciate your feedback as we work together to do what is best for our students.

• December 18 and 19th are exam days. December 18 will not follow a typical Wednesday schedule. It will be a full day. Please see the schedule below.
• Winter Break will be December 20 to January 6. Offices will be closed during this time. Students will return to campus on January 7.
• January 7, Boys Basketball plays Kofa at 4:00 (Fr/So), 5:30 (JV), and 7:00 pm (Varsity).
• January 8 Boys Soccer plays Desert Ridge at 4:00 pm (JV) and 6:00 pm (Varsity) and Wresting has a meet beginning at 4:00 pm
• January 10 Girl's Basketball plays Desert Ridge at 4:00 pm (Fr/So), 5:30 pm (JV), and 7:00 pm (Varsity) and Boys Soccer plays Cesar Chavez at 4:00 pm (JV) and 6:00 pm (Varsity)

As we refine our standards-based learning and reporting practices, we always want to err on the side of our students. In order to be responsive to this goal, semester grades will be calculated as follows:

• Bucket scores will be rounded in Canvas

• Bucket scores will be averaged to determine overall grade

• Note: Students should demonstrate some level of proficiency (1-4) in at least 50% of the gradebook buckets to earn a passing grade in the course.

Please keep in mind that students arriving to campus after 8:13 am should report to the attendance gate to avoid delays and additional walking. All other gates must be locked by the 8:15 bell.

Tip: If students are not in line at a gate before the Coyote howls at 8:14, they should head towards the attendance gate.
