Jarrell ISD.Monday MemoAugust 17, 2026

Cougar Family,

We are excited to welcome our students and staff back for another school year! Thanks to the preparation and dedication of our educators, staff, families, and community, Jarrell ISD enjoyed a successful first day of school. It was wonderful to see our campuses filled once again with energy, enthusiasm, and Cougar pride. This strong start reflects the same commitment to student success that continues to drive academic growth throughout our district.

Jarrell ISD’s latest accountability data reflects encouraging academic growth and demonstrates the positive impact of the work taking place across our campuses. These results give us much to celebrate while also helping us identify opportunities to build on our progress and strengthen outcomes for every student.

Based on the combined performance of its campuses, Jarrell ISD improved across all accountability measures from 2025 to 2026: Student Achievement (+4.3%), School Progress (+6.8%), Closing the Gaps (+7.1%), and the district’s overall score (+5.7%). These district ratings reflect the collective accomplishments of JISD’s campuses and the dedication of the students, teachers, staff, leaders, and families who contribute to their success.

Additional highlights include:

  • Jarrell High School recorded gains in every measured domain, resulting in a total increase of +9%.

  • Students in the 2024–2025 graduating cohort achieved a 93% College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) rate. Reflected in the 2026 accountability results, this achievement demonstrates Jarrell ISD’s commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation.

  • Jarrell Middle School also posted gains across all four measured domains, resulting in a total increase of +16.2%.

  • Jarrell Middle School earned the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Distinction Designation for Top 25 Percent: Comparative Closing the Gaps. This achievement recognizes the campus’s success in reducing performance inequities among student groups compared with similar campuses across the state.

  • Every campus increased its Domain I: Student Achievement score, demonstrating districtwide academic progress from 2024 to 2026.

As we celebrate this progress, each campus will use accountability data to establish measurable goals and implement targeted improvements. Campus and district leaders will collaborate to sustain progress by providing differentiated resources and using actionable feedback and student performance data to guide adjustments. To support these efforts, Jarrell ISD has secured approximately $800,000 in annual grant funding for the next three years to strengthen instruction and expand targeted support for students.

We are proud of the significant gains across campuses in Jarrell ISD, while remaining focused on continued growth. Our mission extends beyond accountability scores: ensuring every student has excellent teaching, strong schools, and opportunities for success in college, career, and beyond.

Together, we will celebrate our progress, embrace the opportunities ahead, and continue moving Jarrell ISD forward.
