SHINE ON!

Happy sunny Friday all! Well, this week was in like a lion, out like a lamb...weather-wise at least!

Book Fair and Bake Sale recap: Thank you for the amazing bake sale goodies! We raised close to $500 for our Playground Beautification Project! We earned over $700 in Scholastic Dollars from our Book Fair. Scholastic Dollars can be used to purchase books and other curricular items.

In Music and Chapel, we had our March SHINE SESH! Each month, we learn a new social skill during our SHINE SESH. We read a book and discuss appropriate behaviors. Most months there is a song/chant we can use schoolwide to practice our new skill! Our social skill this month was using good manners. We read "Please Say Please" by Mo Willems and practiced shaking hands and looking people in the eyes when we speak to them. "How do we greet someone when we meet them?" We say "Hello, nice to meet you!" or "Hi! I'm Heather, what's your name".

We are so excited to share what we've been learning at Special Chapel on Wednesday and Thursday! We will celebrate March and April birthdays as well! Please see schedule below.

Each year before Easter Special Chapel, we ask for big people to stuff Easter eggs for our Easter Egg hunts. Volunteers will be done before Chapel begins. Our Sunbeams will enjoy Easter Egg hunts when we return from Easter Break. Please see link below to sign up.

Spring Pictures are Monday and Tuesday (individual and sibling pics only, no class pics). Spring Pictures are taken inside with a white backdrop.

-Spring Pictures are March 23rd (MW 2s, MWF 3s, Bees) and 24th (T/TH 2s/3s and Owls)

Please see below to donate an Easter Basket for the youth at Loudoun Homeless Services Shelter. GBP provides the clear wrap bags. "Baskets" could be a bag/tote/container that the recipient can reuse later.

GBP will be closed for Easter Break March 30-April 3, 2026. Classes resume Monday, April 6, 2026.

Please remember to pull up as far as possible on Wirt Street during drop off and pick up. Also, please do not block the driveway to the left of the Wirt Street doors, we do not own that property. Lastly, please remember (and share with anyone else who may pick up your children): our Owls and Bees are in their classrooms until Noon. If you arrive before noon to pick up your Owls/Bees/siblings, please remain in your vehicle so you can pull up when other parents leave.

-2s and 3s pick up: 11:50am-12pm

-4s and siblings pick up: 12-12:15pm
