Over the past few weeks, our students and staff have been practicing routine evacuation and lockdown drills to ensure everyone knows exactly what to do in an emergency. We are so proud of how well our students handled these drills. They did a fantastic job staying calm, listening carefully to instructions, and demonstrating our safety expectations.

If you are a new 1st-5th grade family, welcome to Hartwood! New Hornets groups will be starting soon so please turn in your permission slip ASAP!
Counseling opt out forms have gone home with every student. Reminder: please only return the form if you are opting your child out of counseling (academic, career, social/emotional).
Grades 3-5 will continue to use SchooLinks this year. SchooLinks helps students discover interests, explore opportunities, connect learning to future goals, and prepare for life after graduation. More information can be found here about SchooLinks.
As we get to know all our students, there may be needs that arise. Parents/Guardians please fill out this brief form to share with the counselors some specific needs for your child.

We’d like to remind you to check your children for ticks after spending time outdoors. Ticks can carry diseases that can make people sick, so it's important to be vigilant. Please check your child for ticks daily, paying special attention to areas like armpits, behind the knees, scalp, and groin. If you find a tick, please remove it carefully using fine-tipped tweezers and consult with your healthcare provider if needed.
Please help your child learn their five-digit breakfast and lunch number. Their number is the last 5 digits of their student identification number, which you can find in ParentVue. You can use this photo of the keypad to help students practice.

We do this by supporting the school, the staff, the students, and our community. We are a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that facilitates parent/caregiver participation in school.
