The School Committee, in conjunction with the Walpole Public Schools community, recognized Nancy Gallivan for serving 25 consecutive years on the School Committee. Nancy’s dedicated service to our students, families, staff and community is remarkable and greatly appreciated. Thank you to Mrs. Gallivan for an unwavering commitment to all of Walpole.

1. School Opening - Dr. Gough and Dr. Hahn provided insight regarding the opening of schools. Students in Grades 1 - 12 will return on Wednesday, August 30th and student in Pre-K and Kindergarten will return on Tuesday, September 5th. We have included links to start and end times as well as the 2023-2024 school year calendar. Bus routes have been posted, which can be found HERE.

2. Student Activity Fund Update - Mr. Friscia provided the School Committee with a summary of all student activity funds and balances to date.

3. Capital Update - Mr. Friscia gave the School Committee details regarding the School Department Capital requests.

4. Subcommittee Assignments - A draft of the School Committee Subcommittee assignments was provided. The Chairperson requested that School Committee members inform her if they'd like to join or change the current assignments.

5. Walpole Public Schools - Walpole Police Memorandum of Understanding - The School Committee was provided with the annually revised and executed Memorandum of Understanding between WPS and the Police Department.

Middle School Building Project: An update to the middle school building project was provided. A project timeline and three-week look ahead schedule can be located on the middle school webpage. The community is encouraged to visit the webpage and reach out to the Middle School Project team with any questions or comments via email at middleschoolproject@walpole.k12.ma.us.

High School Project: Chairperson Kari Denitzio provided an update to the High School renovation project.
