October Update, 10/27/25
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Can you believe that we are nearing the end of October and 1st quarter already? You can definitely feel the fall crisp weather in the air. A shout out to Lincoln O'Brien and Jake Timm for being our DJ's in the house for our Homecoming and upcoming Middle School Neon Dance! We truly appreciate rockin' it for our students. Looking into the next few months, we are gearing up to kick off winter sports and our traditional Veterans Day Assembly is coming up. More information will be shared closer to the events.

Alpha-Hour (Formally known as Homeroom)
LWHS/MM's homeroom, now called Alpha Hour (period 6) has been revamped to incorporate responsive scheduling Flex. The purpose of this positive change are the following:
1. Provide students who are struggling or are failing a course to receive academic restoration directly from their teachers and/or a space and place for students to proactively review notes, study for upcoming assessments, and collaborate on projects.
2. Offer voice and choice for students to have opportunities to engage in co-curricular activities featuring clubs, courses on life skills, open gym, and many other selections.
Student Safety Protocol and ALICE
Student Safety Protocol Resource (Click to follow link.)
ALICE:
In the School District of Manawa, we are committed to providing the safest possible environment for our students and staff by taking proactive steps in securing our schools. We want to ensure they have a safe place to learn, work and grow. To maintain our safety standards and adapt to the societal threat of a violent intruder inside our school, we are adopting ALICE proactive strategies.
Speak Up, Speak Out
When you, a friend or the community needs help, you can make it happen. Speak up and speak out by reporting a tip! In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Speak Up, Speak Out provides a resource for families, students and or staff members to report concerns. The Speak Up, Speak Out Resource Center will respond quickly and confidentially to make sure we can get help to you or to someone who is hurting, struggling or in danger.
*NOTE: Call 911 for emergencies.

Course Selections and Class Schedules for 2025-2026
2025_2026 1st Semester Schedules
*All schedules are available to view on Skyward Family, and each student can access their schedule via Skyward. Please, have all students print out their schedules prior to open house. If you are having trouble printing your schedule, please contact the front office to request assistance.- All schedules were created from the guidance of our student counselor, Ms. Beyersdorf, Dean of Students, Mr. Bortle, and Principal Johnson. These were based off of credits needed for graduation and future plans.
- If a student would like to change a course, he/she would need to fill out an add/drop form the first week of school for consideration. Due to course numbers, scheduling needs, not all requests can be granted.
