Dear Timberwolf Families,
Here we are on the last week of the 2024-25 school year. What a wonderful year this has been at Truedell! There has been a huge focus on "doing hard things" and improving students reading fluency, as well as understanding what strategies students are using to flexibly work with numbers. All of this work will continue into the next school year. You will be receiving your child's report card on Wednesday this week. I know that there is a short turn around but please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
As the school year comes to an end, please stop into the school to check the lost and found. It is now on display inside the school in the main entrance. We want to ensure that all belongings get home before the end of June. All Lost and Found left at the school will be donated on Friday, July 4th.
The is a lot happening at Truedell on the final week of school. Monday is World Cup Soccer day for our Grade 4 to 8 students. We will be celebrating some of Truedell's talents on Tuesday at 2 pm. On Wednesday, we will be enjoying some fun with water and foam. The school council has rented a foam machine and will also be giving each student a Kona Ice treat free of charge. The students will have the opportunity to have a foam party, play some water games and get a chance to try to hit the target so that a bucket of water drops on Ms. Esford's head. Classes will compete to see which class can hit the target the most times to soak Ms. Esford. It will be important to remember to send a bathing suit or an extra change of clothes on Wednesday as the students will be getting wet.
On the final day of school, we will be having a celebration assembly to recognize some of the Timberwolf achievements, thank our lunch supervisors and tutor Noah as well as to say goodbye to Ms. Anderson, M. Andrew, Mr. Lund and Mr. Sitoski. Families are welcome to attend the assembly.

On Saturday, our very own Walter from Ms. Dempster's class was the honorary captain for the Grenadiers U14 Football Team. Walter got to participate in the coin toss and score the first ceremonial touchdown in support of the Brain Tumour Foundation. Check out the video of Walter's touchdown below. It was an AMAZING day to tackle tumours- we are SO proud of you Walter!
