ELA- Mr. Jones

This week was a week of NWEA Testing. By the end of the shortened week, we started looking at more sources to find evidence for the Argument Writing Piece we will be writing next week. Our topic is whether schools should control what students eat at school. Students will make a claim on that argument, use evidence to support their claim, and include a counterclaim. We will begin the writing process on Monday.

Science- Mrs. Creath

This past week students continued learning about the parts of a cell and worked on a project where they compared the cell to something (like a city or school). The project is due Monday! We will have a summative over Goals 1-3 on Thursday, Jan. 30th.

Social Studies- Mrs. Pettid

This week in Social Studies, we have been examining the Greek city-states Athens and Sparta. Students have been comparing their governments, economies, values, and treatment of women and slaves. They will, with a partner choose the city they think is the best place to live and create an advertisement poster.

Next week, on Friday, students will be writing a summative paragraph about governments. We will also begin looking at Art and Architecture.

After School Help

The Red Team has after-school tutoring sessions on Tuesday - Thursday afternoons until 4:15. Students can get extra help and/or work on assignments.
