Happy 3rd Week of the 4th 9 Weeks.
Last week at the elementary, activities included the book fair, family night, Easter parties and the egg hunt. Teachers also worked on STAAR Blitz to prepare for upcoming state assessments. At the secondary, activities included STAAR Blitz, the book fair, baseball vs. Como (there) and vs. Cumby (here) and the Wood County Junior Livestock Show. Congratulations to Michelle Tuttulomondo-1st in class and Reserve Grand Champion , Justice Vivion-3rd in class and 5th overall, and Lily Forward-8th in class. Also, our Ag Mech students continue our school's partnership with Lake Fork Sportsmen Association. Each year, they build projects that benefit the animal and plant life of Lake Fork in conjunction with the LFSA. In the past, our students have built fish habitats, duck boxes and minnow fortresses. This year, their project was floating planters that will hold aquatic plants for feeding fish. In the picture are LFSA member and retired ag engineer, Ed Swenson with the ag mech students who built the planters (see below). Our counselor, Kristin Layman, also sponsored our very first Yantis ISD All Pro Dads for breakfast.
As always, it is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Yantis ISD Owl Family. Have a great week!
