SJC Vision Statement: A Community, Rooted In Faith, Seeking Excellence For All
Principal's Message
It is such a joy to have our school family together again. The hallways are filled with laughter, learning, and the beautiful energy that comes when students and staff are reunited in community. Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership in your child’s education at SJC.
As we enter November, we look forward to many opportunities that will help our students grow in both learning and spirit. Teachers are working intentionally to ensure students feel confident, supported, and engaged in their academic journey. Classroom routines are back in place, and students are diving into their work with enthusiasm and care.
Beyond academics, this is a time of year when our school truly comes alive with events and experiences that foster joy, community, and faith. In the coming weeks, students will participate in:
-
Meaningful liturgical celebrations and acts of service
-
Classroom and school-wide learning activities
-
Opportunities for creativity, leadership, and friendship
We are incredibly proud of our students for their resilience, kindness, and willingness to learn which continue to inspire us. We are also grateful for our staff, who are dedicated to teaching with excellence and nurturing each child in mind, body, and spirit.
May this month be filled with peace and hope for your family. With God’s grace, we look forward to finishing 2025 strong, united in faith and focused on what matters most: helping every child learn, grow, and experience the joy of Catholic education.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. As always, if I can support you or your family at all, please contact me at 403-362-5989 or at aschell@redeemer.ab.ca.
St. Joseph...pray for us.

Student Information Update - PAST DUE
Alberta Education requires parents to review their child’s demographic information including home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and medical information. In addition to this mandate, the more complete information we have regarding your child, the better equipped we are to care for them. This information is gathered annually via the Student Information Update.
Thank you for your attention to this task.

Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media
At CTR Catholic Schools, our faith calls us to create safe, caring, and respectful learning environments where every student belongs. To support student learning and well-being, we limit mobile device distractions, encourage responsible technology use, and protect mental health.
During class time, devices must be silent, off, and stored out of sight unless needed for health, learning supports, or teacher-directed educational purposes. Teachers will guide students in how devices are stored and used appropriately. Outside of class time, students may use their devices but our focus remains on face-to-face interaction and a positive, distraction-free culture.
Students are not permitted to access social media on school networks or devices.
If expectations are not followed, our Student Conduct and Discipline Process ensures parents are involved, consequences are fair and connected to the situation, and restorative practices help students learn and grow. Our goal is always to guide students toward responsible choices while supporting a healthy, faith-filled school community.
Student Attendance in CTR Catholic Schools
For the 2025 – 2026 school year, CTR Catholic is reemphasizing the significance of daily attendance, which is crucial for student success. Homework, Google Classroom, and making up for missed class time do not replace the interactive and engaging teaching and learning experiences that take place during class. Students must be in class daily.
