Fall Family Conference
The FACE Department hosted Aldine ISD Fall Family Conference on Saturday, November 5th. It was great seeing families excited learning the different programs and resources offered by the district and community organizations. Aldine families had the opportunity to learn about ways to help their students succeed academically. About 200 families attended this event which offered two breakout sessions for families to decide on their topic interest.
At the end of the sessions, the families visited the community partner tables while enjoying the performance of the Ballet Folklorico Ketzally.
All the children received a drawing stencil kit at the front door to be entertained while their parents listened to the presenters' information, and the parents received a beautiful blanket for attending the sessions.
Campus FACE Liaisons Training
FACE Liaisons from all campuses met for the second time this year to discuss effective family engagement strategies that can be implemented with campus staff to engage and empower families as partners in their child's learning. FACE Liaisons learned about the new on-demand PD courses that are available to teachers, liaisons, and administrators in PowerSchool.
FACE Customer Service Training
FACE offered its First Customer Service Training with the famous "School Customer Service Guy" Jeff Nash. Campus monitors and office staff from some Aldine schools took part in two cohorts that met on November 15, 16, and 17. The participants took an end-of-course test to be eligible to receive American Association of School Customer Service certification.
Turkey Distribution
Hundreds of families lined up for the turkey giveaway sponsored by the Equality Health Foundation on November 12. Families were grateful to receive turkeys and other goodies from community partners. Click on the picture to see the story on abc13 Eyewitness News.
