Jaquette Gilbert, School Counselor
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy baking, reading, singing, and spending time with my family.
Tell a little bit about your background.
I've been an educator for 15 years. I have experience as a high school teacher in multiple brick-and-mortar settings and I've served as a school counselor virtually. I've enjoyed learning and serving families over the years.
What do you do at SCWS and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I'm a School Counselor who loves meeting students where they are and helping them get to where they need to be. It's such a beautiful moment when a student achieves a goal, especially one that proved to be challenging along the way.
What do you want the students to know about you?
I want students to know I'm here if they need me.
We enjoyed dinner at Downtown Flavortown by Food Network's Guy Fieri in Tennessee.
I donate sugar cookies monthly to a family with a child experiencing a critical illness. This is done through a company called Icing Smiles.
My family and I loved seeing the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee this past summer!
