PAYS Survey
Our school is taking part in the 2025 Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) sponsored by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. The survey will ask questions about the behaviors of students in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grades, including questions about school climate, mental health, violence, bullying, and substance use. Please review the attached document for more information about the PAYS survey.

PRIDE Period
PRIDE Period Update
We’re excited to share an update on PRIDE! Over the past few weeks, focus groups with students, parents, and staff has been incredibly helpful, and our students’ input was especially important in shaping this updated plan. Their voices guided many of the changes we’re making, and we’re confident we’re on a great path forward.
Starting this week, PRIDE will follow a “Must Do” and “May Do” structure each day. Depending on the day, a Must Do could include one of the following:
-
IXL Math teacher-recommended skills
-
IXL Math Action Plan
-
IXL Arena
-
Checking in with a teacher
Once students complete their one assigned Must Do, they can move on to their May Dos:
✨ May Dos
-
Catch up on homework 📚
-
Continue IXL Math or ELA Pathway 📂
-
Study for a test or quiz ✏️
-
Work on a project 📂
-
Organize materials 🗂️
-
Plan assignments, tests, and quizzes in your planner 📅
Occasionally, PRIDE may be used flexibly for PBIS celebrations, assemblies, or may not occur due to adjusted schedules.
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we shape PRIDE into a meaningful time that supports our school, district, and—most importantly—our students’ growth and goals.
Firefly ELA/Math Benchmark
This week, students will take the Math and ELA Firefly Benchmark Assessments in their math/ela class. These computer-based tests are part of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) benchmark system, which helps teachers track student progress toward state standards throughout the year. The results provide valuable insight into each student’s strengths and areas for growth, allowing teachers to better tailor instruction and supports.
