Weekly Highlights

1. Caregiver Conferences: We appreciate your collaboration with us. We hope you gained valuable insights into your student's strengths and focus areas.

2. Fire Safety: A big thank you to the Maynard Fire Department for educating all grades on fire safety.

3. Purple Pinky Day: Fowler School excelled! Across the district, we raised $906.98 to help eradicate Polio. Here's the breakdown:

   • Green Meadow: $212
   • Fowler: $442.50 — AMAZING!
   • MHS: $253.48

   Donations are still welcome at the main office of each building. Final collections will occur on Tuesday morning, October 28th.

4. Middle School Halloween Dance: This popular event is tonight, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Attendance at school today is required for entry. We'll check attendance as students arrive.

5. Elementary Social: Scheduled for next Tuesday after school. Please see the flyer for more details.

6. ALICE Drill: Fowler will conduct an ALICE drill next week. We'll begin with basic scenarios to discuss potential actions. Later in the year, drills will involve physical responses. Remember, ALICE drills are never a surprise; students and staff are always informed beforehand.

7. Veteran's Day Ceremony: We haven't had many veterans sign up to join us this year, unlike previous years when we had 20-30 participants. We welcome any feedback on why this might be the case, as this event is crucial for our students and community. It's not too late to join us. We Need Your Help

Unfortunately, Fowler School has experienced several acts of vandalism in our bathrooms. Paper towel dispensers are being ripped off the walls, soap dispensers are being damaged, and toilets are being clogged with paper products. This behavior is unacceptable in any environment. While there are no cameras in the bathrooms, we do have them in each hallway. Mr. Snyder and I are currently spending too much time reviewing camera footage when we could be in classrooms working with students. Please emphasize the importance of not engaging in such behaviors and encourage your students to speak up if they see or hear anything. We appreciate your support in this matter.

We recognize that these actions come from a very small number of students, but as a community, we all suffer the consequences.

The Fowler Jazz Band holds open rehearsals on Wednesdays, 5-6 PM, in the Maynard High School Band Room. Band students in grades 6-8 who would like to try a new music ensemble are welcome to attend to see (and hear) what Jazz Band is all about. They are welcoming new musicians in the next few weeks as they prepare for their first concert in early December. It’s a supportive, fun group that plays a mix of jazz, funk, rock, and pop music!
