Principals' Bi-Weekly Wrap-Up
Neidig's Exercise for Education!
WOW! What a day!
Today, all Neidig students participated in our annual PAL Exercise for Education. Students rotated through various exercise stations led by various community partners. This day of fun, community building, and working out was organized by the Neidig PAL. A very big THANK YOU to Mrs. Plover, our Exercise for Education coordinator. Thank you Mrs. Plover, and thank you Neidig PAL for your ongoing hard work with this school fundraiser. Students worked out today to earn the generous donations from the many family members and friends who are supporting our school.
Our students had a BLAST with the following community organizations today:
Action Karate
CrossFit MXL
Healthy Kids Running Series
RelentlessIron Gym
Power and Grace Gymnastics
Zumba with Karen
Let me tell you, the students worked HARD today! They danced, ran, jumped, summersaulted, relay raced, and LAUGHED!! It was so much fun! Please be sure to talk to your children about this event!
Thank you for your generous donations! We have ONE WEEK to go to make our goal!!!! We can do this!

Storybook Character Parade!
On Friday, October 31, is Neidig's annual Storybook Character Parade. All Neidig families are welcome to attend this fun event. The parade takes place on the Neidig playground, beginning at 2:55 PM. During the event, families will report directly to the playground, and may not enter through the building. More information will be provided the day prior to the event.
Important guidelines about students' costumes / outfits.
Please review this list carefully so we can avoid any upset feelings on the day of the parade.
This is a storybook character parade, so please be sure your child is wearing something that reflects a character from a piece of literature.
Absolutely no blood, gore, or weapons of any kind.
No Masks. Students are not permitted to wear masks or anything covering their face. Students will be walking outside and up and down steps, so this is done as a safety measure. If a mask is a vital part of the student's outfit, they are permitted to carry the mask, but they cannot wear it. Again, no masks.
Students should arrive at school wearing their storybook character costume, and they will wear this attire for the ENTIRE day. The costume / outfit must be comfortable, and the costume should not prevent students from learning throughout the day.
Family members will not be able to come to school and help their children change or prepare for the parade. As stated in the previous point, students will arrive at school in their attire, and remain in outfit for the day. We know there may be some small exceptions, and students may have a small prop to carry once the parade begins. (Again, absolutely no weapons of any kind.)
We are allowing inflatables this year, but they cannot cover the student’s face or hands at any time, neither during class or the parade. (See No Masks above). The inflatable must conform to the above regulations and your student must be able to work normally throughout the school day. If the outfit does impact classroom performance, the student will need to take off the inflatable until the start of the parade.
Parent / Teacher Conferences
Last week, the district adjusted the conference format and times. As a result, previously scheduled evening conferences will need to be rescheduled for a new time/format. All conferences will be held exclusively during the day. Neidig teachers have communicated updated schedules. If you have questions about your conference time, please contact your your child's teachers.
We look forward to meeting with you at our upcoming conferences on November 3rd. Please keep in mind that Monday, November 3rd is for conferences only, and there is no school for students on that day or the following day, November 4th, which is a staff in-service day.
If you have questions about the progress report or your child’s upcoming conference, please contact your child’s teacher.
Take a Vet to School Day!
Veterans Day takes place on November 11th every year. Veterans Day is celebrated all over the country with parades and celebrations. Neidig Elementary will be honoring our Vets on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. We would like to show our Veterans how much we value their service while inspiring our Neidig children. We are inviting Veterans who have a connection to a Neidig student (family members or friends) to join us on this special day to share their experiences in the armed forces.
If you have a Veteran who you would like us to honor, please complete this Google Form by Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
- Veterans who can attend in person, our celebration will take place at Neidig on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 2:30-3:40. Please complete this form if you are able to attend in person.
- We can also honor Veterans who are unable to attend in person. If you have a family member who is a Vet (either living or deceased), you can complete the Wall of Heroes Template to be hung in our school hallways. If you completed one last year and your child was not in 5th grade, we still have it! You may complete more than one tribute. Wall of Heroes Template
Thank you from Neidig Elementary Staff and Students.
