Band & Orchestra Sign Up

Dear 4th and 5th Grade Parents,

Happy first week of school! For those of you that do not know me, my name is Ms. Sicolo and I am the Instrumental Music teacher at both A. Russell Knight and Kingston Elementary Schools. First and foremost, I hope everyone had a great summer - I can't wait to get started making music very soon! This email is a little lengthy but contains important information for the upcoming year!

It's not too late to sign up! Any/all 4th and 5th grade students can sign up for band/orchestra!

**(Note - not every instrument group is available to new registrants - please mind the schools/grade levels available to each instrument group)**

5th GRADE: ALL fifth-grade students who played an instrument last year are automatically enrolled - you do NOT need to fill out the form again!

4th GRADE: If you have already signed up and received a congratulatory email from me, you do NOT need to fill out the form again!

If you have not rented your instrument yet, I have included rental company contact information below. I highly recommend renting an instrument as it ensures they have a high-quality instrument to best start their music making experience!

Instrument deliveries are starting soon!! As they come in, I will begin dispersing them to students. I know the excitement is VERY real, but if your student has never played before, please have them hold off on assembling anything until/unless they have had a lesson. This will ensure nothing gets broken!

Lessons will begin the week of 9/15. I am currently working on completing our lesson schedule. Once I am finished navigating around other services in the building, I will send out a completed schedule ASAP (by the end of the week).

Like other encores, lessons function on the school's 1-5 schedule. This means that their lessons will be on the same number day every week regardless of the actual day (Monday-Friday). I will send out a yearly rotation calendar with the lesson schedule so you can take a peek at when their lessons will be all year. More lesson-specific information will be sent out with this schedule!

3. Instruments get delivered to school & dispersed to students
