Community Compass

I want to begin this week’s Compass with a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible parents who showed up last week to support our students and our school community. From WATCH D.O.G.S. volunteers keeping an eye on our campus to the many parents helping out at our Scholastic Book Fair each day, to those who took part in the Junius Heights Home Tour—your presence makes a profound impact. At Lipscomb, we're truly fortunate to have such engaged parents, whose dedication fuels the passion and motivation for our staff and students alike. Seeing you show up time and again brings me real joy, knowing that your children get to experience the rich support of this community.

Lipscomb is on the brink of an exciting new chapter—one that calls for us to LEVEL UP in every aspect of what we do and who we are. With your continued support, we’re building a school that will leave lasting memories for your children. I encourage all of you to stay engaged, or to lean in if you haven’t yet found your path to involvement. Your support means everything to our teachers, our students, and our entire school as we push toward new possibilities. The more we unite on this journey, the sooner we turn our dreams into reality.

For those who haven’t yet had the chance to volunteer or join our PTA, let this week be the one you find your entry point. It’s never too late to contribute to the growth of our community and strengthen the foundation for our kids’ success. I can assure you that seeing parents on campus and at events brings a boost to our entire staff. As I often say, it takes a village to prepare our children to thrive in whatever they pursue.

To the parents who have been with us for years, those who have joined with fresh energy this year, and those who will join us in the future—thank you for making Lipscomb, the Pride of Old East Dallas, a place we can all be proud of.

With gratitude, joy, and optimism,

Principal Carter
