✨ You can also choose to purchase Fundraiser Bucks, which can be used on future visits—and still earn 25% back for the school.
This is a great opportunity to:
Meet and connect with other Ridgeline families 👋
Enjoy a fun, community-centered outing 🍽️

🎉 Student Marketplace is ON — Saturday, May 16 (just 6 weeks away!) 💛
Great news! Thanks to an amazing team of volunteers coming together, the Student Marketplace is officially happening—and we can’t wait!
This beloved, student-led arts and crafts event is a fun way to support our school while helping students build real-world skills like creativity, planning, and entrepreneurship.
✨ Time to start creating!
Students can begin planning what they’d like to sell—art, crafts, and handmade goods (no food items, please). They can work solo or team up with friends, set their own prices, and choose how much to donate. A minimum of 20% of profits goes toward our school-wide fundraiser, but students are welcome to give more—up to 100%!
🛍️ Need supplies?
Families can check out affordable community resources like MECCA or local Buy Nothing groups on Facebook.
👩🎨 Who can participate?
All students in grades K–8 are welcome!
📝 Ready to sign up?
Submit proposals here (registration deadline is May 8). Due to the short timeline, proposals will be considered approved unless you hear otherwise from Jenny Noyce within 2 business days.

More volunteer opportunities are coming soon! Look for a Track It Forward sign-up link next week.
Let the creativity begin—we can’t wait to see what our students dream up!
The March 2026 Ridgeline Revealed Article = A Must Read!
Ridgeline Revealed is a monthly article series that offers behind-the-scenes insights into the school, providing families with information on key aspects they may not typically see. Our goal is to share timely topics and increase transparency about day-to-day operations in a short, easily digestible format.
NEW MUST READ March 2026 article: How Did Conflict Influence Montessori’s View of Education and Peace? - Peace begins in childhood, nurtured daily through empathy and responsibility.
Quick Summary:
Maria Montessori’s understanding of peace was shaped by living through times of war and instability, leading her to see peace as something that must be actively built, not simply the absence of conflict. She believed education plays a vital role by helping children develop independence, empathy, responsibility, and self-discipline. In Montessori environments, peace education is woven into daily classroom life through collaboration, respect, and meaningful work. By focusing on the development of the whole child, Montessori saw education as the foundation for creating a more peaceful and compassionate society.
Oregon BottleDrop – Earth Week Give Matching Funds
Do you have full Blue Bags at home? Hold onto them a little longer or grab a new one because Ridgeline Montessori is registered for BottleDrop’s Earth Week Give matching promotion. We’ll receive a 20% match from BottleDrop Give on funds raised from April 15 – April 26! This matching campaign also benefits from online donations from your BottleDrop Green Bag accounts if you don’t have a blue bag on hand.
Please call or email the office if you need extra blue bags sent home with your student now through the end of the school year! Some families like to take an extra blue bag to their staff room at work, or share with neighbors, or grandparents.
Blue bags can be turned in at any location in Oregon! In Eugene/Springfield, you can drop your Blue Bags at any of these three locations:
Eugene Redemption Center - 2105 W Broadway Eugene, OR 97402 (*Drop door is open during construction ongoing through 4/28)
Fred Meyer (Santa Clara) - 60 Division Ave Eugene, OR 97404
Springfield Redemption Center - 2289 Olympic St Springfield, OR 97477
With just 10 weeks left in the 2025 - 2026 school year, this match is a great way to boost your participation in our school fundraising efforts. Every dollar matters, so we send thanks in advance to those who choose to participate!
Class Placement Input Form - Complete by April 17
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share some important information about class placements. You can read about the full process here.
Why it matters
Classroom placement at Ridgeline shapes student growth, classroom balance, and community dynamics. It’s a thoughtful, data-informed process that considers academic, social, and developmental needs—not specific teacher requests.
Who should complete the input form
Families of:
student moving to a new level next year. If your student is transitioning within our 3-year classroom bands.
students who may benefit from previous relationships with a student who will be moving levels.
middle school students who would benefit from the placement team know about social dynamics.
- Submit your input here
What you need to know
The Class Placement Input Form is open April 2–April 17 (midnight deadline).
You’re invited to share your student’s learning style, strengths, and needs—not teacher preferences.
The placement process is collaborative and multi-layered; final decisions rest with the principal.
Info shared will be reviewed alongside staff insights to support whole-child placement.
Middle school update: Each year, student cohorts are reshuffled to ensure balanced, diverse, and supportive learning environments. Returning 8th graders should expect to be placed in a different cohort than last year, alongside incoming 7th graders.
Questions & feedback
- Direct emails with questions or comments to placement@ridgeline.org.
Kindly note: The Ridgeline Board is not responsible for class placement or the appropriate place to submit feedback.

Now is a great time to look back at your calendar, jog your memory, and log any past hours.
- Don’t worry about being exact—estimates and bulk entries are absolutely fine.
- If you volunteered in a classroom but don’t recall specific dates, you can simply log something like: “classroom volunteer – 15 hours.”
- It’s easy to get started in Track it Forward—just click on the link and follow the instructions.
- The platform is also available as an app if it’s more convenient to use on your phone!
Thank you for taking time to log your volunteers hours - every entry helps!

Volunteering - What You Need to Know
Volunteers are an essential part of the Ridgeline community, and there are many ways to get involved!
- From serving on committees, preparing materials at home, and helping with grounds work, to assisting in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, acting as crossing guards, and more—your time and talents make a big difference.
Each family is asked to contribute 40 volunteer hours per school year and we’d love to help you find volunteer opportunities that fit your schedule and interests.
- To participate, all volunteers must first complete a background check and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct.
- Once these two steps are complete, the School Community Coordinator will notify you by email that you are green badge approved and ready to volunteer!
- Visit our website or contact Ridgeline’s School Community Coordinator, Bethany Dilla, or learn more.
Track it Forward - Information for New Volunteers
Why It Matters

State Testing 30-Day Notice and Opt-Out Forms
As a public charter school that receives State School Fund dollars, Ridgeline is required to participate in state testing for grades 3-8.
One important factor in our school’s evaluation is the participation rate. If we don’t meet the required participation threshold, the number of students who fall below that rate are automatically counted as not meeting state standards. This lowers our overall performance results. This means that even if Ridgeline students excel, a low participation rate can misrepresent our school's true academic success. For the past three school years, Ridgeline has fallen short of the required 94.5% participation rate.
State testing provides us with objective data that informs our teaching practices, allowing us to assess academic growth, identify areas for improvement, and refine our instructional strategies.
By engaging fully in state testing, we not only demonstrate the strength of our Montessori approach but also ensure that our students' achievements are accurately reflected. At Ridgeline, we approach testing in a low-stakes, student-friendly way, ensuring plenty of time, breaks, and a relaxed environment so that students can engage in the process without stress.
By allowing and encouraging your student to participate in state testing, families help ensure that teachers and students have the information and support needed to make learning as effective as possible.
In case you missed it, the February 2025 edition of Ridgeline Revealed, Common Reasons for Opting Out of State Testing and Why You Should Reconsider, goes into even greater detail on this topic.
