Principal Message
Happy Thursday! A few items to note:
~ Yearbook: The deadline to order yearbooks is Wednesday, January 31. Students can pick up extra forms in the office.
~ PTO Family Game Night: Mark your calendar for an exciting PTO Family Night. On Friday, January 26 the PTO will be hosting a Family Game Night from 6:30-8:00pm. A few details:
* Please enter Door #3 so that your kiddos can sign in to win door prizes. Doors #3 will open at 6:25.
* Silent Auction baskets will be available for auction so bring your checkbook!
* The Dork Den will be here showcasing a game or two!
* Please eat before you come, as we are asking for no food or drink--we do not want games getting ruined.
* Please bring your own game(s). The Blue Earth County LIbrary and the North Mankato Taylor Library have games available for check out if you'd like to try something new!
* This is NOT a drop-off event--you come with your child(ren) to play games with them and their friends. This is a great chance to connect with your kiddo, friends, parents of your kiddo's friends, etc.
~ Mark your calendar: For those of you who like to plan ahead, please mark your calendar for our Spring Music Concert. The concert will be repeated 3 times throughout the day on Wednesday, April 24. Exact times yet to be determined, and we will use last names to assign times for parents to attend (please know if these assigned times do not work, it's ok--you can come when it works in your schedule).
As always, thank you for your support--it matters!

Science Fair
Families of budding scientists,
If you have a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader, you may have heard that your child is invited to embark on a journey of scientific discovery! The contract packet that recently went home is designed to help your family determine an intriguing testable question to focus on. If you and your child decide to take advantage of this memorable opportunity, please complete the last page of the contract and return it to school by Friday, February 2nd. In return, your child will receive their own copy of the 2024 Science Fair Workbook; this workbook will include a proposed timeline, reminder of important dates, a working copy of the scientific method, information/ideas regarding display boards, and judging criteria that former Wildcats (currently juniors & seniors) will use as they interact with our scientists at our science fair on Wednesday, March 6th. If you have any questions, please use the contact information at the bottom of the contract packet that went home. If you need another copy of the contract, use the following link:
Climb to Feed Kids
On behalf of the Washington Wildcat Climb 2 Feed Kids team we would like to thank you all for the support and generosity you have shown to the BackPack Food Program! Because of amazing people like you we were able to provide meals and snacks for students right here at Washington! TOGETHER, we surpassed our goal of $1,500 and raised $2,095! We took the Climb on Sunday and had lots of Wildcat spirit going on! We won the Spirit Award along with JWP and Lake Crystal Knights! It was such a fun and rewarding experience for all involved.
We are starting to get 700 step readers!
Congrats to our Lighthouse Team!
