Country Crossroads Counseling School Based Therapy
The district is pleased to announce a new partnership with Country Crossroads Counseling. With office locations in Pleasant Hill, Kingsville, Blue Springs, Warrensburg, Lone Jack, Odessa, Higginsville, Sedalia, and a new Independence location opening soon, Country Crossroads Counseling provides accessible mental health services across our region. They accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid and major commercial providers, and offer evening and weekend appointments. Their team includes therapists with specialties in areas such as Play Therapy, EMDR, and DBT.
Through this partnership, we are excited to expand access to care by offering school-based therapy during the school day. Ms. Katie Ackley, a Licensed Master Social Worker, will serve as our School-Based Therapist. Katie works primarily out of the Pleasant Hill office and has experience providing school-based therapy in other local districts. We are delighted to welcome her to East Lynne and believe she will be an excellent resource for our students and families.
School-based therapy offers many benefits. Students are able to receive support without the need for transportation to an outside clinic, saving families both time and money while reducing missed work. Students also miss less instructional time, as therapy sessions are integrated into the school day. This model helps increase consistency and follow-through, making services more accessible and effective.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact the school office for assistance.
Annual Health Fair
Our Annual Health Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. During this event, students will visit a variety of stations set up in the gym, each focused on providing important health resources and education. Your student brought home a dental consent form last week (pictured below). Please review the consent form, mark your selections, and return it to the school by September 10, 2025.
Shout out ot Mrs. Regina Rushly, for organizing this annual event and working hard to bring together a variety of preventative health education opportunities for our students. Thanks to her efforts, students will have the chance to learn about healthy habits and access valuable resources that support their overall well-being.
Thank you for completing the form (below) and sending it back to us!

OPAA Food Service
We are excited to share about our partnership with OPAA Food Service, and we are pleased to welcome Mrs. Ashley Coakley, our new café manager, to our school. She is joined each day by Miss Brenda, and together they bring energy and care to serving our students.
Links for the school menu can be found on the right bottom corner of our website.
This partnership has already brought some exciting changes to our lunch program. Students now have more daily choices with their meals, including a colorful veggie and fruit bar and a refreshing hydration station that features an infused water option. In addition, students have the opportunity to purchase extra chips or treats.
We are very pleased with this partnership and the expanded options it provides. We encourage families and students to take advantage of these new choices and enjoy all the healthy—and fun—additions to our Cougar Café.
If you or your student have any questions or feedback about the food service, we invite you to use the link provided to connect directly with OPAA.
