Principal's Message
Assalamu Alaikum!
Dear NISL Families,
We are excited to share a major milestone in the growth and future of our school community!
Alhamdulillah, NISL’s offer has been accepted for the purchase of a new school building located at 2300 Greene Way, Louisville, KY 40220. This expansion represents an important step forward in strengthening and growing our school for current and future generations of students.
As many of you know, our long-term plan had been to expand our existing Six Mile Lane campus by constructing an addition to accommodate our growing middle school and high school programs. We previously shared these plans with the community and explored multiple possibilities for expansion. However, due to the significant rise in construction costs in recent years, pursuing a large-scale building addition became financially unrealistic at this time.
In what we truly believe is a blessing from Allah SWT, this nearby facility, previously used as the Campbellsville University campus, became available. The building already offers the classrooms, offices, parking, and layout needed for a growing secondary school program, allowing us to expand more quickly and efficiently without many of the uncertainties and delays that come with new construction projects.
As part of this transition, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year:
• Our Middle School (Grades 6–8), currently located at the 6500 Six Mile Lane campus, will move to the new Greene Way campus.
• Our High School (Grades 9–12), currently located at the 8005 New LaGrange Rd campus, will also relocate to the new Greene Way campus.
Bringing our middle school and high school programs together into one dedicated secondary campus will provide exciting new opportunities for collaboration, growth, student life, and future program development, InshaAllah.
This move will also free up much-needed space at our Six Mile Lane campus, allowing us to open a second Kindergarten class beginning next school year due to growing enrollment and increased demand from families.
While we are still in the fundraising and financing process and are actively seeking community support and loan assistance to complete the purchase, we wanted our current families to be among the first to hear this exciting news. We are deeply grateful for the support, trust, and duas of our community throughout this journey.
This expansion is more than a building. It is an investment in the future of Islamic education in Louisville and in the generations of students who will benefit from it for years to come.
More updates, details, and opportunities to support the project will be shared in the coming weeks, InshaAllah.
May Allah SWT place barakah in this effort and allow it to be a source of benefit for our students, families, staff, and community for many years to come.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Aisha Blagaia

2026 Art Exhibit
Salam!
Over the course of this semester, 11th and 12th-grade Introduction to Visual Arts students created pieces and showcased their reflections of faith. Each artwork establishes a personal connection to their iman and how we can see Allah's creations reflected in our lives. They hosted an Art Show on Tuesday, April 17th, to auction off their items and raise funds to support the art program!
Thank you to all who supported our students and the arts program at NISL!

Toy & Book Drive Update
Alhamdulillah, our NJHS students shared the Toy Drive service project with the entire school and placed collection boxes in each classroom. 📦🤍
NJHS students worked hard by delivering the boxes to classrooms, collecting them back, and sorting all the donated toys, books, and items carefully for refugee families in our community. I’m very proud of their teamwork, leadership, and dedication to serving others.
Alhamdulillah, over 350 toys and books were collected and donated by students from across the entire school. Through this project, we were able to prepare and donate around 250 toys and books for refugee families in need.
InshaAllah, NJHS officers will deliver these gifts to the refugee families during the last week of school so students can experience the joy and impact of helping others firsthand. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and supported this beautiful service project. 🌸

Refugee Family Fundraiser Update!
Our NEHS students are continuing their charity project after their successful bake sale. Alhamdulillah, they raised $350 in profit, and they decided to use all of it to help refugee families.
The students chose to support 7 families, giving each family $50 so their donation can make a meaningful impact. They also wrote beautiful heartfelt letters filled with kind words, wishes, and duas for the families.
Students decorated envelopes and placed the money inside, and the money will be sent to the refugee families during the last week of school, InshaAllah.
I’m so proud of our students and their compassion, generosity, and hard work.

A Gift of Love for Mother
In Islam, mothers hold a very special place. We are taught to love, respect, and care for our mothers every day. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reminded us that mothers deserve the highest kindness and honor. This small gift is a way to say thank you for all the love, care, and sacrifices our mothers make for us. May Allah bless all mothers and reward them greatly.
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“Whoever does not thank people has not thanked Allah.”

Donate to our Barakah Store!
Our school-wide Barakah Store is one of the ways we reinforce positive behavior, effort, and character across both our K-8 and high school campuses. Students work hard to earn their Barakah Bucks, and they take great pride in saving and spending them on meaningful rewards.
We are kindly asking for your support in donating items to help restock our stores. You may:
• Purchase items directly from our Amazon Wish List link
• Donate new items of your choice that are high value and motivating for students
Our students range in age from 5 to 18 years old, so items that appeal across elementary, middle, and high school levels are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping us continue building a culture of excellence, responsibility, and positive character.
May Allah reward you for supporting our students.
