Veterans Day Program
Please join us for our Veterans Day Program on Monday, November 9th, at 9:00 AM.
We are honored to welcome our veterans and their guests as we come together to recognize their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation. Please check in with the front office and you will be escorted to the gym.
Guests are welcome to stay after the program and join us in the Seminar Room for light refreshments.
To all who have served and continue to serve, thank you for your service. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten!
Student Celebrations
October Students of the Month
A huge congratulations to these students for being recognized by their teachers for Student of the Month. We are so proud of you! Our partnership with Chick-fil-A on Sunset helps us recognize these students for their accomplishments and award each student with free Chick-fil-A.
Reading Challenge
Ask Your Student About the Newest Reading Challenge!
Thank you for encouraging your student to read at home. We are proud of our Cougars!
United Way Fundraisers
SWJH is supporting United Way with two fun fundraising challenges. Beginning next week, students can purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to be Principal for a Day, spending the day with Dr. Gladden, Mr. Terrell, and Ms. Clay. Our Cougars Ready classes are also competing in a Coin Challenge! The class that collects the most weight in coins by Thursday, November 19, will win a donut party! Every contribution makes a difference in our community! ๐งก๐

Springdale Studentsโ Pathway to Success
Springdale Public Schools has many opportunities for students to explore their interests to prepare for their future. After high school, students typically choose to enlist in military service, enroll in a postsecondary or college degree program, or become employed in a career that offers family-sustaining wages. We have opportunities built into students' academic careers to support any pathway they hope to pursue. Each month we will share new information about ways to support your student.
Any questions can be directed to Emma Clay at (479) 750-8849 or eclay2@sdale.org.
Springdale Public Schools Career Clusters
The district offers 13 career clusters. Each cluster groups related pathways. Pathways are about exploration, not commitment. Students are not stuck in a pathway; they can try things, learn what they like, and change direction as interests change.

What You Can Do Now!
Encourage exploration and keep the conversation going. Ask questions!
- If you could try any job for a day, what would it be?
- What's something you learned this week that surprised you?
- Which class makes time go by fastest? Why?
- What's one thing you'd like to get better at this year?
- Who's a teacher you'd feel comfortable asking for help?
9th Grade Families
8th Grade Families
- Plan 9th grade together
- Ask about advanced, Pre-AP, and career-focused courses.
- Review and sign the Student Success Plan
