A Message from the School Board of Directors

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the children, families, and taxpayers of the Upper Darby School District. As part of the School Board communication plan, the Board sends monthly updates to the school community. The information included in these briefs is not intended to be complete and does not replace official Board minutes. Official meeting minutes, agendas, reports, and presentations are available at BoardDocs. Also, the Board meetings are live streamed to the District's Official UDSD Board & Board Committee Meetings YouTube Channel. We welcome you to follow the issues the School Board is considering and to attend meetings to stay informed.

Re-registration for Rising 6th and 9th Grades for the 2023-2024 School Year

The Upper Darby Board of School Directors voted on the re-registration requirements for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Board requires students who are entering sixth (6th) grade and ninth (9th) grade to re-register with the District. We are accepting re-registrations now. Please complete this as soon as possible.


There are three different ways to complete the re-registration process. For whichever method you choose, you are required to submit the completed re-registration form, two (2) proofs of residency and a government issued photo ID. Your two (2) proofs should include (1): a lease, deed, mortgage statement, or Upper Darby tax bill, and (2) a current utility bill. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Central Registration at (610) 352-2400, ext. 2508 or via email at emonaghan@upperdarbysd.org.


In-person: Please go to the Upper Darby School District Office of Central Registration located at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026


Via email: Please include your child/ren’s name(s) and date(s) of birth (DOB) in the body of the message and attach the following required documents: completed re-registration form, two (2) proofs of residency, and a photo identification. These documents should be emailed to re-registration@upperdarbysd.org.


Via online: Click HERE (https://www.upperdarbysd.org/Page/9886) for the link to the 2023-2024 Online Student Re-Registration form. Please complete the form in its entirety. You will then email the two (2) proofs of residency and photo identification to re-registration@upperdarbysd.org. Be sure to include in your email your child's name and DOB.

First Day of School

We hope you and your family had a relaxing summer and are gearing up for the 1st day of school. The Upper Darby School District 2023-2024 school year begins on Monday, August 28th for all students. Back-to-school communication from the Superintendent and school Principals have been shared with families. The Superintendent's communication can be found HERE. We look forward to another successful year and are excited about working with you!

Act 34 Hearing on Proposed Clifton Heights Middle School - Scheduled

The Board has approved the scheduling of a public hearing in accordance and compliance with the requirements of Act 34 and the School Code. The hearing will be held in the Upper Darby School District Administration Building, located at 8201 Lansdowne Avenue, Upper Darby, PA 19082 on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, beginning at 7:00 pm. This hearing is required in order for the Clifton Heights Middle School construction project to move forward.

SchoolPass - Contract Awarded


The Board awarded a contract for an electronic attendance and hall-monitoring system to SchoolPass, Inc. Students in all district secondary schools will be required to carry their school identification cards and will use these cards to swipe in each morning.
