Senior of the Week

Christy Chan was nominated by her counselor, Mr. Roach. "I'm honored to recognize Christy Chan as my nomination for Senior of the Week. Christy is an excellent student and extremely involved both on and off campus. Her commitment to the Rowland Raider Regiment is exceptional, and even though she is extremely busy, she still has time to compete as an Ice Hockey athlete outside of school. I have gotten to know her well over the past 3.5 years, and I'm proud of how she has grown both academically and socially. I'm eager to see where her future takes her. Keep up the great work, Christy!

Our second spirit week of the year. This week aims to foster a more positive school culture—one that is safe and supportive for every member of our Rowland family.

Each day highlights a different character trait, with special activities on Wednesday and Friday during lunch to reinforce these values.

How Students Can Participate:

  • Earn Homeroom & Minga Points by dressing in each day's spirit colors
  • Points contribute to end-of-year prizes for homerooms with the most participation in spirit weeks, the Winter Door Decorating Contest, and House of Representatives meetings
  • To receive Minga points, students MUST visit the ASB office at lunch to be scanned

DAILY THEMES:

MONDAY – TRUST (Wear Blue) "Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair. Be truthful, gentle, and fearless."

TUESDAY – RESPECT (Wear Yellow) "It costs $0 to treat someone with respect. Respect is a two-way street—if you want to get it, you've got to give it."

WEDNESDAY – FAIRNESS/UNITY & ANTI-BULLYING (Wear Orange) Lunch Activity: Come to the outdoor stage to commit to being unified "A negative mind will never give you a positive life. A fair-minded person tries to see both sides of an argument."

THURSDAY – RESPONSIBILITY/CITIZENSHIP (Wear Green and/or Purple) "The price of greatness is responsibility. You must take personal responsibility—you cannot change the circumstances, but you can change yourself."

FRIDAY – CARING/FAMILY (Wear Pink and/or Red) Lunch Activity: Senior Candy Buffet on the outdoor stage. "Family doesn't have to be flesh and blood—it's time, love, caring, and sharing. Family is anyone who loves you unconditionally."
