Principal's Corner
It is hard to believe that we find ourselves in the month of April, yet here it is! Thank you for the wonderful school year we have had! Our teachers are working diligently to complete their teaching of the state curriculum, and ready our students for the state assessments, STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness.). We also look forward to fun activities to conclude our year, including Ag Day for our fourth grade students, the fifth grade rocket launch, as well as our DeShazo track meet and hamburger cookout! We will send out communication regarding these events as they draw closer.
I will begin sending out a monthly newsletter to families, and hope you will find this resource helpful. I will be posting upcoming events, as well as providing research based tips on how to help your students be more successful in school.
Next week our fourth grade students will take their writing STAAR test on Tuesday. Please help your student by ensuring they get plenty of rest, as well as encouraging them to eat a healthy breakfast. We thank you for your support!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Burrus
