A Note from Mrs. Kidder and Mrs Larson

Happy Sunday, Dunham Families!

I hope you all had a marvelous Halloween weekend filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of treats!

Friday was truly a day to remember here on campus! We kicked off the morning with our Walk-a-Thon Awards Assembly, recognizing the top earners in each class and our top participating class. Students also had the opportunity to win gift cards through a raffle, and we wrapped up the assembly by turning Mrs. Larson and me into the most perfect plates of spaghetti! While I am still working to get tomato sauce out of my clothes, the laughter and fun were absolutely worth it!

From there, we moved into our fantastic classroom Halloween parties and finished the day with PTO's first annual Trunk or Treat! This event was an incredible celebration of community, creativity, and all things Dunham. Thank you to everyone who helped plan, participated, decorated, donated, and spent the evening with us. I left campus Friday evening completely exhausted, but with a full heart and feeling incredibly proud to be a Dragon. What a special day!

The time change this morning brought us the welcome gift of an extra hour of sleep! As we move into November, we have lots to look forward to. Since November is a shorter month and our calendar is packed, I will do my best to keep newsletters and communications concise while making sure everyone has the information they need. The next few weeks will bring a staff development day tomorrow, the end of our first trimester, Veterans Day, parent-teacher conferences, and, of course, Thanksgiving Break. It will be a busy few weeks, but there is so much to celebrate and look forward to!

No School Tomorrow: Tomorrow is a staff day. There is no instruction or child care. See you Tuesday!

Attendance Update: This past week, our daily attendance totals showed that 92% of students were here on campus. Let's keep working hard to stay healthy and present. Next goal is 95%. Over the next few weeks, you may receive a letter from the office outlining your attendance thus far. We are providing families with current absence data as well as the number of Independent Study days used. This is part of our efforts to remain compliant with the State's attendance recovery and support programs. Please let us know if you have any questions or need support.

Walk-a-Thon Pizza: We will be hosting the Walk-a-Thon pizza party on Friday, November 6th during lunch. PTO will provide pizza, drinks, and treats for students who reach this fundraising level. Don't worry if you signed up for hot lunch pizza and your child is going to this; we have already modified the lunch count for Friday to accommodate this celebration

Rain Boots Needed: We would love to start a collection of rain boots for students to use in the garden during the muddy season. If your student has outgrown a pair or two, please bring them by! We will put them to good use for years to come!

Coat Drive: We are collecting warm coats for the Redwood Gospel Mission through the month of November. The collection bin is out in front of the office. New or gently used coats are welcome! Thank you!

Conferences: We will be hosting parent/teacher conferences the week of 11/16-11/20. This is a time to meet and collaborate with your student's teacher and set goals for the next trimester. You will also receive your student's first trimester report card at this time. Each teacher will send sign-ups via Parent Square. Just a reminder that dismissal is at 11:45 for the entire week.

Crab Feed: Tickets are officially on sale for the Dunham Crab Feed! Buy your tickets or tables early, as we usually sell out! This year, we will host the event at the Petaluma Veterans Hall. Breakfast and Lunch

Access to the meal order forms will be removed on Friday at 3:00pm. Please place your student's meal orders as soon as possible! Menu posted below! Place your meal orders HERE for next week. After you place your order, a copy of your responses will be emailed to you. The emails come from Forms Response Receipts.
