PAWS IN TIME
January 29, 2021
Greetings Huskies!
As January comes to a close, we are preparing for lots of kindness in February. We are participating in The Great Kindness Challenge again. This year, the challenge is to create a 1/4 mile Kindness Unites Paperchain. This is a challenge to spread hope around the world where these kindness chains will be displayed in hospitals, senior centers, etc to "memorialize this extraordinary time and serve as a beautiful reminder that love and kindness connect us all. Students will decorate a love link (strip of paper) with messages of Love and Hope. We will hang this chain around the school during our 3 week challenge and send it in to be counted as part of the Guiness Book of World Record Challenge.

Thank you for continuing to spread positive news to our staff through our 2020-21 Staff Appreciation form. Those messages fill up our staff's cups more than you can imagine. Please continue to share the love to them! These messages are shared in our weekly Staff/Supt/Board Updates. Here is the link to the form: https://forms.gle/qRzp7eHfP1qDG3dY7
Sincerely,
Principal Thrush

NWEA Testing
We have now completed K-5 NWEA mid-year testing for our face to face students. Virtual students and make ups will be held next week to complete our testing cycle. We are excited that our preliminary reports are showing much more positive gains than anticipated!
Inclimate Weather Days
Last Wednesday, January 27th, we held our first inclimate weather virtual day with 86% of our students participating. Please be aware that we are required to record attendance for virtual days. Attendance for virtual is a 2 way communication by turning in work and/or attending a live Zoom/Google Meet with your child's teacher. Thank you for your continued support in working with us help your child in their academic growth.
Childcare K-5 on Inclimate Weather Days
Our childcare is open for inclimate weather days. Of course advanced notice of needing care on those days is preferred for staffing arrangements. However, we know that at times a last minute decision is needed. Please contact Janette Reiber via email ahead of time to be put on the list or you can call after 7:00 using Option 2 for HPLC. ALSO, please make sure you bring your child's virtual day materials sent home from their teacher and their log in information so they can participate in their class' virtual learning. Thank you!
February Winter Break
Friday, February 12th we will have a half day. There will be no school on Monday, February 15th. Enjoy your mid-winter break! Stay safe Huskies!
