Dear MCS parents,

Community Schools joins in prayer and thoughts to the victims, loved ones, and survivors of the recent tragedy in Uvalde TX. We recognize that this is a very sensitive moment for many and we want to assure you that Community Schools will continue to work in partnership with the MPS district and the Milton Police Department. Our staff attends training and reviews safety and security protocols on a regular basis. We appreciate your support and cooperation to ensure these protocols in place are being met to protect everyone in our programs.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. The celebration and commemoration first began in 1977, spearheaded by Representative Frank Horton of New York and Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawai, as House Joint Resolution 540. This resolution proclaimed the first ten days of May as Pacific/Asian American Heritage Week. Click here to read more about it here!

PBS is premiering these documentaries this month on AAPI History in the United States. This includes A Tale of Three Chinatowns, which features Chinatown neighborhoods in three cities, including Boston!

Camillee Cardoso is a kindergartner at Tucker ASE. She enjoys Playdough and drawing at ASE. During the regular school day, Camillee enjoys writing. Camillee wants to be a police officer when she grows up. Camillee's favorite animal is an elephant. Her favorite sport is soccer and her favorite movie is "Turning Red."

Simon Shen is a third grader at Collicot ASE. His favorite part of ASE is "playing with my friends." Simon's favorite subject in school is Math. Simon is not sure what he wants to be when he grows up yet. His favorite color is blue!
