Panther Picnic Is Coming!

Panther Picnic is one of McMillen’s signature student events—a fun, high-energy day where students get to enjoy food, music, and activities together during the school day in a structured and supervised environment.

Friday, April 24, 2026
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Students can purchase food from a variety of student organizations and booster clubs while enjoying music and spending time with friends. Cash and cards will be accepted.

The day also features student-led activities such as a staff vs. student basketball game, face painting, volleyball, soccer, hula hoops, cornhole, and spike ball—all designed to build school spirit and student connection.

Panther Picnic is all about creating a positive, engaging campus experience for our students while celebrating our Panther community!

We would like to inform you of our upcoming End-of-Course (EOC) testing dates:

  • April 7: English I and English II
  • April 14: Biology

We will share schedule updates directly following each testing day to inform students and families about any adjustments for the days that follow.

In addition, we will also be conducting mock testing sessions for our AP exams on campus during this time. After testing is complete each day, we will follow this bell schedule.

To help students perform their best, please ensure that your student:

  • Gets plenty of rest the night before each test
  • Brings snacks and water if needed

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students prepare and succeed.

AVID News AVID News

Every year in AVID one of our most impacting components of the program is having guest speakers share about their profession. McMillen AVID students are always thinking about college majors, and they love exposure to as many as possible. That's where guest speakers help the most. Whether you own a business, are in the medical profession, the world of transportation, hospitality, engineering, law, human relations, trade professions…we would love to schedule you to speak to our students. They are always interested and have an abundance of questions. If you would be willing to come share your profession with us, or if you know someone who would like to come be a guest speaker in our AVID classes, please contact Sherika Gaines, our AVID Coordinator, at sherika.gaines@pisd.edu with questions. You may click the Google Form or scan the QR code on the flyer. Please consider sharing what you do with our students! We look forward to hearing from you.

The McMillen Theatre Department is pleased to present its 2026 Student Showcase play: Knock Knock!

When you deliver packages, anyone might be behind your next door, from your elementary school teacher to a burglar on the job. Jaded veteran Logan thinks she's seen it all, while newbie Sam is convinced attitude is everything. The only sure thing in this job? They're both going to be surprised. “Knock Knock” is a rapid-fire comedy that delivers.

Please join us in the cafeteria on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th at 6:30pm for this wonderfully funny play! Admission is free (donations to the McMillen Theatre Department will be accepted at the door).

We’ll see YOU at the show!
