High School Visit
Recently, Mrs. Holden and Mrs. Wilson took our 8th graders on their annual high school visit to Harrisonville High School, Pleasant Hill High School and the Cass Career Center. The students previously met with high school guidance counselors to discuss class options and other high school information. The students enjoyed the visit and even stopped at Mazzio's for lunch. The staff at Mazzio's commented on this excellent group of students! Way to represent 8th grade!
It is hard to believe this group is headed to high school. We sure will miss them and know this new adventure will be exciting! We look forward to watching them continue to grow and to see their future success.
EGG-stra Special
Fourth grade collaborated with the Missouri Extension Office and has been able to care for and watch some baby chicks hatch. This is always a fun experience for our students!
Mrs. Droege & Mrs. R Potter will be getting their eggs and incubators in a couple of weeks! It makes for some EGG-citing days here at school.
MAP TESTING
End of year MAP testing for grades 3-8 and EOC testing for our Algebra students will take place in April and May. A schedule will be sent out via email so that you know what days your child is testing.
Summer School
We have plans to collaborate with Harrisonville again this year for summer school. It is my understanding that their summer school starts before our year ends. We will discuss with Harrisonville about our students missing the first two days. I know many of our students like to participate for the perfect attendance reward. When Harrisonville reaches out about signing up we will clarify perfect attendance guidelines and pass that info on to you.
Cougar Community Day!
The district is excited about our upcoming service day in MAY. We are working on creating several community projects for our students to complete during our first annual COUGAR COMMUNITY DAY. The students and staff will complete different projects on our school grounds and in the community. We are very excited to start this tradition and create a way to give back to our learning community.
