🍀 RCHS 🍀 March Newsletter
Principals' Remarks
This month we look forward to starting our final trimester of the school year, hosting our New Student Orientation for our incoming freshman class, celebrating some in our community at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet, Spring Break and warmer temperatures! Next week our students will take their trimester 2 final exams, and tutoring will be available on Monday and Wednesday until 3:30 in the library. Students are expected to attend school and take their exams on the scheduled final exam day. If there are extenuating circumstances and your student is unable to attend school on the day of finals, please contact Mrs. Furkas. Senior students and parents, these last few weeks of high school will go very quickly as we have several special events planned just for you. Soak it in. Just as we are excited to welcome the class of 2029 to the halls of RCHS, we are equally excited to congratulate and celebrate the class of 2025!! Finally, we'd like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing break as we sprint into the final stretch of the school year!
Warmly,
Mrs. Furkas & Mr. DiBrano

Psychology Classes Make Brain Caps
In our psychology class, students brought their learning to life—literally—by creating brain hats that showcased key concepts from our unit on the brain! Once their hats were complete & wearable, they embarked on a brain fact mission. Their task? Visit two staff members, proudly donning their brain hats, & share a brain-related fact to earn signatures. By the end of the week, students could be seen all over the school, making the hallways brighter, brainier, & more colorful than ever! 🧠🎨

RCHS Dance Team Takes 3rd at Brandon HS
On Saturday, 2/25, the RCHS Varsity Dance Team competed at the SpiritShine Dance Celebration. They travelled to Brandon High School in Ortonville and danced in multiple categories, competing against 14 other high school teams. They took 3rd place with their Jazz routine to Breaking Dishes by Rihanna. It was a great experience for this team that has 11 members and 9 members who have never danced competitively before. They've danced their toes off and are taking a well deserved break. Join us in March for our 2nd Annual Yoga/Zumba Night where we are raising funds for new uniforms!!
RCHS StuCo Wins Major Awards At States
The RCHS Student Council and Emerging Leaders spent the weekend of February 22-24 in Grand Rapids for the Michigan Association of Student Councils & Honor Societies Annual Student State Leadership Conference. The weekend was filled with leadership activities, keynote speakers, team building and networking with other students from around the state. During the awards ceremony on Sunday night, RCHS was recognized as a Star School, which demonstrates the collective leadership effort of the entire student body. Mariah Bieringer was named the RCHS Unsung Hero, an award that goes to the student who never seeks accolades or recognition, but would do anything for the school. The Emerging Leaders were awarded the Exceptional Service Project for the Tackle Cancer Game that raised over $3000 in October. The Emerging Leaders also brought home a plaque for the Award of Excellence which is the highest award given at the conference. Groups that receive this award exemplify the highest standards of organization, member development, community-minded service and goal-oriented vision for their programs. All of the awards represent the culmination of a year's worth of hard work, dedication to the school and community and Pirate Pride. Thank you to StuCo Advisor Mrs. Bailey and RCHS teacher Mr. Hicks for chaperoning this special weekend for our students.
