We are excited to be here and look forward to working with our families and students throughout the school year. There are a couple of new faces in the department we would like for you to meet. Please help us welcome our newest members to the Longhorn Counseling family: Miss Aguero and Mrs. Villarreal. Thank you to Mr. Hinojosa, Luna Professional School Counselor, and Mrs. Benedict, Counselor Secretary, for welcoming us to the department!

• Miss Aguero, Head Counselor-comes to Luna MS with over a decade of counseling experience, working at all levels in the public school setting. She loves the outdoors, cooking, dancing, and spending time with her closest friends and family.
• Mrs. Villarreal-as a brand new counselor, she is thrilled to support your children this year. She brings 21 years of education experience and a deep commitment to helping our students thrive. Outside of school, Mrs. Villarreal enjoys family trips, game nights, and spending time with her family and she is looking forward to a great year ahead!

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a dedicated time where we raise awareness and encourage open, honest conversations to ensure people know they are not alone.

Our Howdy visits are approaching soon! During the presentation, our students get to meet their Longhorn Counselors and learn all about the counseling program.

We miss you when you're not here! Please remember that student attendance is very important. We want to ensure that student's do not fall behind on any content learned in class or missed assignments. In addition, for our High School credit courses, only 17 absences are allowed for the entire year. Excessive absences will result in denial of credit. Don't let this be you. We want to see you every day 🙃
