Welcome to another exciting dance season at KJ Dance! We are so excited to watch your dancer learn, grow, and shine in our Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion program. We can't wait to see their confidence grow as they make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast each week in class.

Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion

Our Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion class is a high-energy introduction to both Hip Hop and Jazz dance. Through age-appropriate movement, upbeat music, and engaging choreography, dancers learn the fundamentals of both styles while developing rhythm, musicality, coordination, confidence, and performance quality.

This fun, encouraging class is perfect for dancers who love to move, express themselves, and build a strong dance foundation in an exciting and positive environment.

What should my dancer wear to class each week?

Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion Attire

Please have your dancer wear:

Comfortable, movable athletic wear
Clean tennis shoes
Tan jazz shoes

Dancers will use both tennis shoes and jazz shoes throughout the season, so please bring whichever pair is not being worn to class in your dance bag. Hair should be pulled back and secured away from the face so dancers can move safely and confidently.

Will my dancer perform in concert at the end of the year?

YES! All Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion dancers will participate in the KJ End-of-Year Concert!

Each dancer will perform one routine, giving them the opportunity to showcase everything they have learned throughout the season while building confidence, making lasting memories, and experiencing the excitement of performing on stage.

The KJ Concert is one of the highlights of our dance year, and we can't wait to celebrate your dancer's hard work with family and friends!

What if my dancer would like to take another class during the week?

Many of our Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion dancers choose to add a Combo class to their weekly schedule. A Combo class is the perfect complement, introducing Ballet and Tap technique while helping dancers build strength, coordination, flexibility, and a well-rounded dance foundation.

Our KJ faculty carefully designs the class schedule so dancers can often attend classes back-to-back, making it convenient for families. If you're interested in adding a Combo class, take a look at the schedule immediately before or after your dancer's current class—there is often a great option available!

If you need help finding the perfect fit, our office staff is always happy to assist with scheduling.

Concert Bonus: Dancers enrolled in both Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion and a Combo class will perform an additional routine in the KJ End-of-Year Concert, giving them even more opportunities to shine on stage!

Can my dancer bring a friend to try the class?

Absolutely! Dance is always more fun with friends, and we'd love for your dancer to invite a buddy to join them!

Friends can always try a class for FREE! They will simply create an account at kjdance.com, add their dancer, and select the Drop-In class they'd like to attend. Our faculty will be notified of the trial and will be ready to welcome them.

If your friend loves class, they can easily enroll online or contact our office for assistance. We can't wait to welcome them to the #THEKJWAY family!

What if my dancer misses a class?

No worries! We would love for your dancer to make up any missed Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion class.

To schedule a makeup class, simply log in to your Studio Director account, select "Makeup Class," and choose another Hip Hop/Jazz Fusion class that works best for your family's schedule.
