Westmoor Weekly 02/12/26
February 12, 2026
A Note from Principal Eck
Dear Westmoor Families,
What an incredible week it has been! Our students embraced Kindness Month with such enthusiasm and heart. One of the highlights was our Jar of Hearts activity, where students filled one another’s jars with thoughtful compliments and kind words. It was truly special to see their genuine care and encouragement for one another.
During conference days, we appreciated the opportunity to connect with families and celebrate the growth and progress of our students. Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s learning journey. A heartfelt thank you as well to our PTO for generously providing dinner and dessert for staff throughout conferences—we are so grateful for your continued support.
Looking ahead, please remember that school will be closed Friday and Monday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 17.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
Quote of the Week
Each week students may submit a positive quote that captures and motivates their peers to persevere and feel good. We then showcase the quotes throughout the school building. Students may submit a quote, using this link.
Go above and beyond!

SCHOOL NEWS
We Need your Input about Westmoor!
Between now and March 13, students, teachers, and families across Illinois have the opportunity to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent/guardian, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about Westmoor. We want to hear your perspective on your child’s education and learning environment. Click here to take the survey today!
Share a picture with us!
We’re excited to showcase the special moments and achievements of our students and their families. Whether it’s a holiday, cultural tradition, a child’s milestone like riding a bike without training wheels, a big win at a soccer game, welcoming a new pet, or anything else that makes you proud — we’d love to feature it! Here is the link to share a photo and brief description.
