Manville Community,
As the weather warms up, we want to ensure all students continue to have a positive and focused learning environment. To help with this transition, we are sending a friendly reminder about the district dress code and asking for your support in reviewing the guidelines with your student.
Our dress code is designed to maintain a safe and optimal environment for learning, requiring clothing to be appropriate for the school setting, time, and weather conditions.
We ask that you pay special attention to the following common warm-weather items, which are considered inappropriate attire:
Tops: Spaghetti straps, halter tops, tank tops, muscle shirts, or midriff tops.
Bottoms: Excessively short shorts/skirts or spandex clothing without cover-ups.
Footwear: Pupils may not walk about the school barefoot at any time. Excessively high heels, roller blades, and skates are also prohibited.
Additionally, students must avoid:
Clothing that is excessively tight, revealing, or immodest.
Attire bearing words deemed offensive, or advertising alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products.
Items that violate safety standards, including sunglasses, metal chains, jewelry, or accessory articles that can be used as a weapon, and gang colors or attire.
If a student's attire does not meet these standards, the issue will be addressed in accordance with the school's Code of Conduct and the discipline chart in the student handbook.
We sincerely appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home. You can find the full policy and regulation details here: policy and regulation.
Thank you,
Jamil Maroun
Superintendent

🌟NJ Budget Video📹
Recently, the New Jersey Department of Education featured the Manville School District in its ongoing “NJ Budget” social media series, which helps explain the state budget process to younger audiences. A film crew visited our district to capture footage highlighting the important role education plays in our communities.
The video showcases how the Department of Education supports schools across New Jersey, from school funding and educational resources to student support programs and services. We are proud to have our district represented in this initiative, which highlights the many ways education is shaping the future of our state.

🛑 Safety First: Crucial New E-Bike Rules for Parents and Students 🛑
With more students than ever using electric bicycles to commute to school, safety on our roads and around school zones has become a top priority. E-bikes are heavier and faster than traditional bicycles, making safe riding habits and strict adherence to traffic laws absolutely critical.
To reduce crashes, prevent serious injuries, and protect all roadway users, New Jersey has put a New State Safety Law into effect. Law enforcement's goal is safety and education —but we need parents and students to understand the rules of the road immediately to ensure everyone gets home safely.
