Words of Windom December 25
Notes From The Office
Happy December!
Thank You for a Great Conference Season!
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all our families who took the time to attend our recent parent/teacher conferences! Your commitment to your child's education is truly appreciated. These conferences are a vital opportunity for us to partner together, discuss student progress, and set goals for continued success. The feedback and collaboration we shared during this time are essential in creating the best possible learning environment for every student.
Prepare for Outdoor Winter Fun!
As the weather continues to get colder, we ask that you please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the elements.
Warm coats, hats, and gloves/mittens are essential to help students stay comfortable and healthy.
Weather permitting, most classes will still head outside daily, as students especially love using the popular sledding hill out back!
Proper attire helps ensure everyone can make the most of these fun and active outdoor moments.
Need Support? If you find that you need assistance with supplying winter gear for your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school office or your child's teacher. We are here to help!
Exciting News! Buffalo Bandits Lacrosse Visit
We have an exciting announcement from our Physical Education (P.E.) Team! Our 4th and 5th-grade students are in for a treat: they will have the opportunity to meet and learn the sport of lacrosse from some professional players! On Monday, December 16th, members of the Buffalo Bandits National Lacrosse League team will be visiting Windom to work directly with our 4th and 5th-grade students during their scheduled P.E. classes.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our older students to learn new skills and get inspired by professional athletes. We thank our P.E. team for setting up this unique experience!
Happy Holidays from Our School Family!
We want to thank all of you again for your ongoing support of our school and the important work we do together. Your partnership makes our community strong.
We wish you all a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!
November Recap
๐ Celebrating Our Thanksgiving Day Parade! ๐
A huge round of applause for Ms. McMahon's and Ms. Perry's classes for their incredible creativity in the inaugural Windom Thanksgiving Day Parade!
These students worked hard to design and create their own spectacular parade balloons and then proudly paraded them around the school. Great job, parade participants!
๐ค Character Education Assembly ๐ค
We want to recognize Mrs. Chadwell and our dedicated Student Council for leading a wonderful Character Education assembly focused on manners.
The students learned valuable lessons about being respectful, kind, and using polite language like "please" and "thank you." Promoting good manners helps create a positive and welcoming environment for everyone at Windom. Thank you to the Student Council for modeling such great behavior!
๐พ PAWS for Love ๐พ
We want to give a huge thank you to Ms. Todaro for her incredible work coordinating the PAWS for Love therapy dog program!
Thanks to her efforts, we have trained therapy dogs visiting pre-approved classrooms throughout the day, providing a calming and supportive presence. Students had wonderful opportunities to practice skills like reading aloud or reciting math facts to a patient, non-judgmental furry friend. This program is a highlight for many students, boosting confidence and creating memorable learning moments. Thank you, Ms. Todaro, for bringing this valuable experience to our school!
