Principal's Message

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou (Greetings to you all),

Here we are preparing for an Easter break during the school term. We have Easter fall outside of the school term breaks about once every four years.

Back before New Zealand schools switched to a four year term (from the old three terms) in the mid 1990s, Easter was always the break in the later part of the first school term. That is the reason why we have Tuesday off - Easter Tuesday is written into the Education Act as a compulsory holiday for schools.

We wish you all a safe and enjoyable break. See you back next Wednesday.

Our Newest Arrivals at GMS

We have had ten new students enrol in the past two weeks.

Welcome to Oliver Garrett-Tuck, Willa Enticott, Phoenix Cartwright, Miller Stevens,

Isabelle Knuiman, Benson Horton, Myles Pinny, Arthur Asalele, Mylo Masseurs-Hislop and

Axel Conroy.

Our roll is now 455 - which is two more than the roll on 1st April 2020 (no joke either ...).

School Canteen News & KINDO

A reminder the school canteen is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We take online orders only - please as cash is no longer accepted.

If you’ve ordered a juicie or a moosie online make sure your child knows’ to come and collect it after eat time.

Please ensure your child’s correct room number is on Kindo.

Here are the instructions to change your child's room number on the Kindo App:-

- Go to the menu bar (the three lines in the top left hand corner)

- Select your child's name you need to change

- Select room number.

School Hats

From 3pm today the children do not have to wear their school hats while at school. They are taking them home today if they wish ... put them away somewhere safe until the start of term 4!

GMS PTA Easter Raffle

Last night we drew the easter raffle ... thanks to everyone for their amazing support buying tickets, or donating chocolate treats.

For the first time in over a decade we did not have to buy any additional chocolate for the prizes. We received so many donations!!! You are awesome folks!!!! Many thanks.

The raffle raised $5200 - a great total.

Most tickets sold - Cooper Whaanga (270) and Maddie Smith (260). Outstanding !!

Domino's vouchers as spot prizes for selling a sheet of 10 tickets awarded to:
