2025 Bond Update
Bond Update - As we get closer to the end of the 2025-26 school year, we are also getting closer to the start of the construction phases of our 2025 bond projects. There have been LOTS of design meetings related to the bond. The first project that will be taking place is at the Elementary, where a new security vestibule will be added to the office, along with an awning in the front of the building and one on the east side of the building at the pick-up areas. These projects are planned to start as soon as school is out and will be completed around the first of August.
As for the new High School - we have been meeting regarding the kitchen and culinary arts equipment, the security camera locations, and the types of door hardware. The high school is at the 65% plan stage, with final bids coming in on June 4th. Sitework is scheduled to begin at the beginning of July.

Fairfield Celebrates Administrative Professionals Day
On Wednesday, Fairfield ISD celebrated our Administrative Professionals Day. These ladies do a wonderful job of representing our district in a positive way. They are often the first person someone talks with when they call the district or campus, or the first person they speak with when they come to the campus.
Thank you - Mary Ann Masiel and Mandie Judd (Admin Office), Michelle Miller (HS), Kendall Utley (JH), Cristal Banks (Int), Glisa DeFrance (Elem)
STAAR Tests Down to One
Both the Intermediate and Junior High have finished their STAAR testing for the year and the High School is down to their Algebra I test, which will take place on Wednesday of this week.
Results for the tests will be released on May 22nd (HS tests) and May 29th (3rd - 8th). Since students who do not pass the STAAR (or those who chose not to take it) will be required to attend summer school, which starts on June 1st, we will quickly get the final results to parents regarding who is required to attend. We will be reaching out to parents over the next few weeks if our data from throughout the year indicates a student is "likely" to have to attend summer school so plans can be made. Summer school will be held Monday - Thursday from 8:30 - 11:30. It will start on June 1 and end on June 18th.
(STAAR results will be release to parents, in the portal, a few days after the district gets the results)

Softball wins Bi-District Playoff Game
The Lady Eagles Softball team won their Bi-District playoff game on Thursday night in Mumford against the Academy Lady Bees 10-7. The Lady Bees stuck early by putting up 2 runs in the first inning, and then scored another in the top of the second inning, behind 2 home runs. The Lady Eagles, trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the 3rd, exploded for 9 runs in the inning, with a bases clearing double by Cariss Capps and then a home run by Kaylie Ridge. The Lady Bees would continue to chip away at the lead and the Lady Eagles led 10-5 going into the top of the 6th, thanks to a Haylee Allen home run in the bottom of the 4th. In the top of the 6th, Academy would get another home run, but some great work in the field threw out two runners on base and the Lady Eagles held Academy to one run. In the top of the 7th, the Lady Eagles gave up one run, but then sealed the game winning 10-7.
In the Area round of the playoffs, the Lady Eagles will meet up with defending 3A State Champions Grandview. Final plans for this game should be announced on Sunday or Monday on our district Facebook page.
Eagles Baseball Earns Their Way to a Playoff Berth
It has been an up and down year for the Eagles baseball team, but they have definitely ended district play on the upside. Needing two wins in their final three games to put themselves into a tie for a playoff spot, the Eagles defeated Teague (in extra innings) and then Mexia to end up in a 3-way tie for 3rd with Elkhart and Buffalo. Buffalo won the coin flip between the three teams, so they received the bye and the automatic playoff bid. The Eagles played Elkhart on Thursday. The Eagles won 6-0 behind a dominant pitching performance by Gustavo Aguilera. Since the playoff seeding was now complete (Groesbeck - DI - 1 seed, Teague - DII - 1 seed, Buffalo - DII - 2 seed, and Fairfield - DI - 2 seed), the Eagles played Buffalo in a warm-up game. The Eagles came out victorious again with an 8-6 win.
The Eagles will match up with the Academy Bees in the Bi-district round of the playoffs. Information on this match-up should be released Sunday or Monday via our district Facebook page.
