Our Advanced Orchestra is hitting the road to St. George this February! After auditioning last spring, these talented students earned a spot to perform at the Utah Music Educators Association Annual Conference—an incredible honor!
This means our orchestra will be performing in front of music teachers from all over the state, proudly representing West Point Junior High and our district.
If you want to support them and donate to their trip you can donate here: https://dsdgive.net/event/4707
Shout out to these awesome kids for their hard work, dedication, and musical excellence. We are so proud of them—Way to go, Advanced Orchestra!

Field Trip Options:
-
Catalyst Center – November 3 & 4, 2025
-
University of Utah & Weber State University – February 2026
-
Davis Technical College – May 2026

Please note: Each 9th grade student may only attend ONE of the four field trips. Catalyst Center sign-ups are happening first, so if your student is interested, don’t wait! Sign-ups for the University of Utah, Weber State, and Davis Tech trips will happen later during 9th Grade CCR meetings.

Good things at West Point
Are you hearing about great thing happening at West Point? We want to hear from you! What are you seeing in your classes and the school. Let us know what is happening and share any information you want about the amazing things our students and teachers are doing here:
Everyone goes through tough times, but no one should ever feel like they have to go through them alone. September is national suicide month, a time to remind ourselves that mental health matters and even small acts of kindness can have a huge impact. At our school, being a warrior isn’t just cheering at sporting events or wearing our colors- it means coming together, looking out for each other, and making sure no one feels alone.
At West Point Junior High, we can make a difference just by making sure everyone feels good and included. So how can we help as Warriors?:
- Smiling at someone in the hallway or saying hi, even if you don’t know them very well.
- Including others at lunch or other activities so no one feels left out
- Say something to a classmate who looks down or left out
- Creating positive spaces by being kind, saying nice things, and no bullying
- Check in on your friends. Make sure they are doing good and a simple “How are you?’ can go further than you would think
If you’re going through something hard, please know that you are not alone. Reach out to a teacher, counselor, or any trusted adult. And remember, the Suicide and crisis lifeline is always available by call/texting 988
Being a warrior means we got each other's backs. And we have the strength and power to help a friend or person in need. If someone is struggling, help them, talk to them, or if needed tell a trusted adult. As warriors, we look out for each other and help others when they are in need.
This month isn’t just about awareness, its about action. Each of us has the power to be a friend and make our school a place where every student feels seen and valued. Rember, you have the power to make someone’s day brighter. Because when you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine.
