LHS Student Scheduling 2026-27
We are entering the time of year that we begin working on the schedule for next year. The Lunenburg HIgh School Program of Studies has been provided to students in their grade level google classrooms, and teachers and advisors have been reviewing the content with students. School Counselors will be holding grade level meetings with students next week to review the scheduling timeline, graduation requirements, and elective options. The meeting for students in Grade 11 will be on March 10th and for students in grades 9 and 10 on March 12th. Teachers have begun making course recommendations for students, and this will be completed by March 13th. Parents/guardians are asked to review the Program of Studies with students and ask about the conversations students are having with teachers around recommendations for next year. Students will be making course selections on PowerSchool from March 16 - March 20, 2026. Parents/guardians are encouraged to reach out to teachers and/or school counselors if they have any questions.
Lunenburg 300th Anniversary Design Contest Guidelines
Overview : The Lunenburg 300th Anniversary Committee invites designers, artists, and community members to participate in a design contest to create an official graphic or logo commemorating Lunenburg’s 300th Anniversary fast approaching in 2028. The selected design(s) will be used to celebrate this milestone across a variety of materials and platforms throughout the anniversary year.
Contest Purpose : The goal of this contest is to develop a distinctive, timeless, and versatile design that reflects Lunenburg’s history (incorporated in 1728), community spirit, and future. The design should be suitable for broad public use and adaptable across many formats.
Eligibility
Open to individuals of all ages.
Individual and group submissions are welcome.

Print materials (posters, flyers, banners, signage and promotional materials)
Digital platforms (websites, social media)
Merchandise (shirts, hats, stickers, pins, cups)
Color & Style

Design should not rely solely on color to be understood. (i.e. still work in black and white)
Avoid overly intricate details that may not reproduce well at small sizes.

Submissions must be original, unpublished work.
Digital submissions are preferred in one or more of the following formats:
PDF
PNG
JPG
Please be sure images are high resolution so they can be converted to Vector files (AI, EPS, or SVG).

Selection Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on:
Creativity and originality
Relevance to Lunenburg and the 300th anniversary
Visual impact and clarity
Versatility and reproducibility in color and black-and-white
Overall design quality
Selection Process
The Lunenburg 300th Anniversary Committee will evaluate all submissions.
More than one design may be selected or used; a blend of more than one design may be end result.
Finalists may be asked to provide minor revisions.
The committee reserves the right not to select a winner if no submission meets the contest standards.
Rights & Usage
The winning design becomes the property of the Lunenburg 300th Anniversary Committee and the Town of Lunenburg.
The Committee and Town retains the right to reproduce, modify, and use the design for official anniversary-related purposes without additional compensation.

*All Parents and Guardians have the right to opt their child out of any of the screenings by submitting a written request.
If you would prefer that your child not participate in this screening, please send an email with your child’s name and state you would like to OPT OUT of the Postural Screening.

Focus Group
Hi! I am Mary Foyle and am a doctoral student at UMass Lowell working towards a degree in school leadership. As part of my dissertation work, I am creating a focus group (to meet one time) to better understand how families and students choose their courses each year. I am looking for people who fit the following criteria and who would be willing to participate in a voluntary and confidential focus group, either online or in-person. If you fit the criteria and are interested, please read and fill out the attached Google Form.
Two families (one guardian each) of a current tenth-grade LHS student.
Two families (one guardian each) of a current eleventh-grade LHS student
Two families (one guardian each) of a current twelfth-grade LHS student
Two families (one guardian each) of a recent LHS graduate, who did not graduate before 2023.
Two families (one guardian each) of any of the above criteria of a student who did not attend LHS, though was not home-schooled.
*** I want to ensure that confidentiality is my priority in this process. The Google Form is on my personal account, and a transcript of the focus group will be housed, without participant names, in another program attached to my UMass Lowell account. Potential risks to participating would include other participants, though this is strongly discouraged, telling others of their experience. ***
Thank you for your consideration!

Students are also invited to visit the Guidance Office to create a college flag to add to our bulletin board of college acceptances.
All seniors who are working on college applications must meet with their counselor at least two weeks before their first deadline. This is necessary to ensure that all components of their application will be ready to submit on time. Students are encouraged to visit the guidance office with any questions throughout their college application process.
It is important that students are aware of the admission requirements and deadlines for the schools they are applying to. Here is a link to a college application specific guide that students can refer to:
2026 College Planning for Seniors
As most Early Action deadlines have passed, students who are applying for Regular Decision should be working with their school counselor on getting their applications done before their deadlines.
