Too Sick For School? Here's How To Tell

Here's a link to some useful information when you are trying to decide whether or not to keep your student home from school. Quakertown School District policy is that students can return after being fever free (without fever reducing medications) for 24 hours. For vomiting/diarrhea, students should be 24 hours without vomiting or diarrhea, be able to tolerate liquids and feeling better. Stomach virus season is fast approaching-the best practice to avoid these bugs is to wash your hands frequently! Be sure to call the attendance line to report your student absent.

Gentle Reminder for Parents

As the weather finally progresses from extended summer to the cooler fall and winter months, PLEASE make sure your child has a sweatshirt or jacket for recess time. We also ask that you clearly label your students outerwear with their name so lost items can be reunited with their owners. We had an enormous amount of unclaimed articles of clothing that were donated last year after spending much time trying to find their owners. Unfortunately, space constraints dictate that we cannot keep coats and sweatshirts in the health room for student use when they do not have a jacket. The Lost and Found rack is currently overflowing and we haven't even hit those cold winter temps yet! Also, please remind your student that they should keep their jackets/sweatshirts on at all times while outside on these cooler days. Thank you for your help with this matter!
