Introducing PCSD Teacher of the Year Rebecca Clark
PCSD Counselor of the Year
Congratulations to the 2023-2024 PCSD Counselor of the Year, Dr. Meitra Perry!
Dr. Perry is a four-time graduate of the University of West Georgia and currently holds an Ed.D. in Professional Counseling and Supervision. During her time at Nebo Elementary School, the school's counseling program has been selected as a Recognized ASCA Model School Counseling program (RAMP) through the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Nebo was also selected as a School of Distinction, which is the highest possible national recognition for a school counseling program. She represented PCSD at the ASCA National Conference in July 2023 as a presenter of the RAMP process, and she has had articles published in the Georgia School Counselor Journal and the ASCA National Magazine. She lives in Bremen, Georgia with her husband, Michael, and two daughters Abigail (7) and Elizabeth (5).
PCSD Earns Financial Reporting Award
The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts (DOAA) has awarded the Paulding County School District’s Business Services Department its Award of Distinction for Excellence in Financial Reporting for fiscal year 2023! The Department has received this award every year since 2007!
The DOAA states that the Award of Distinction is presented to organizations that submit quality financial statements and supporting documentation in a timely manner, whose annual financial report is given an unmodified audit opinion and is free of any significant deficiencies or material weaknesses and comply with all Transparency in Government requirements. The award is particularly timely as the district moves toward the June 2024 final approval of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
The school district's recently completed FY2023 Independent Financial Audit found the district's financial statements are in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. The financial statements and Federal grant requirements received an unmodified opinion with no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies, no noncompliance, no findings, and no questioned costs. The report also found PCSD to be a "low-risk auditee." These are the highest audit-report notes a school district can attain.
Congratulations to the Paulding County School District Business Services Department!
